...but I had a good night tonight. I cleaned up my living room and watched the Grizzlies beat the Thunder. Now I am going to wind down with some Netflix (I'm thinking early 90's SNL) and Latin exercises....

I am sincerely glad that my personal views are structured in a way in which I believe that teams other than the Tigers can bring civic pride back to Memphis. The Grizz haters used to irk me to no end on here, but it is on night's like these, where it is hard NOT to be bitter, that I am glad we have other outlets to root for. I will admit that I still get annoyed by some of the trite comments, but the future is bright for us here in the Grindhouse.

The Grizzlies outperformed the Thunder tonight in a hostile environment, and we looked like a complete team, even without Cunningham and Conley. The MEMPHIS Grizzlies have forged a persona and identity throughout the entire league and, most importantly, throughout the city.

It is all to easy as a Tiger fan to become bitter and ask, "what if?" regarding Cal, but that is not healthy...as Memphians (in my case displaced) we must forge ahead and claim a new identity that is not in any way related to a crazy ex-girlfriend, and the Grizzlies provide the perfect outlet for such a mutation. Yes, Cal won a championship tonight, we all knew that he would; but to that I would like to reiterate the sentiments that I gave to a very close friend tonight:

He wrote me a text saying, "Who do Memphis fans root for in tonight's game?" I replied with, "What game? The Thunder game? The Grizz of course!"

Let's make some noise in the playoffs.

We have yet to face the Thunder once, going back to last year's playoff series, where we have everyone healthy. Give us a series with a full team and there'll be fireworks.

I did the same. Watched the Grizzlies, checked on the score of the NC game as I would any NC game with 2 teams I don't have a rooting interest in, and then went to bed.
