Rice guard Dylan Ennis is considering transferring to Villanova, Oregon, UVA, Va Tech, Memphis, Wake or Cincy, per @BounceTTCAAU
Anyone have any insights? i know little to nothing about Rice U or its athletics.
Looks like he wants to play closer to home. Started at PG, averaged 8.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.1 assist and was named to CUSA all freshmen team.
Three years left and would be eligible after Wright graduates. Seems like it would be a good pick up if it happened.
6-2; shot .435 from the field; .354 on 3s; and .664 :( from the line
shooting 66 pct on free throws would be pretty good on this year's team. Hopes those guys practice a ton this summer and are much better next year.
Haha exactly. Cincy shot 64% from the stripe in 2011-12 so Ennis would be an upgrade. Plus UC's freshmen G/SF's weren't exactly perfect from the line last season either:
Guyn: 64%
Davis III: 44%
Sanders: 50%

RE: Dylan Ennis of Rice...
What kind of player is this guy really? Has anyone seen him play? I cant make up my mind if those stats are good for a freshman at a program like Rice in a weak league or not...?
Also, is he considered a package deal with his brother to the school he transfers to?
If not, I'd almost prefer UC target someone next year like Chris Jones (Former Top 50 player now in JC in Florida) to replace Cash as the PG in a few years.

I haven't seen him play but there are definitely big time programs going after him, of the list he came up with 3 of them (Cincinnati, Memphis and Virginia) have also offered his brother.

For a freshman, those shooting numbers aren't too bad. What I like are his assists and rebounding numbers. It's a big step up from CUSA are currently constituted to the Big East, but this guy looks like he has some talent. In college hoops, you can never have too many quality guards.

Another site has a poster saying his sources say Villanova is the frontrunner for the kid.

That is fine with me. Im not really sure what to think of him to be honest. If it was a lock he'd bring his brother along with him then that would be great, but with UC's luck they'd probably get this kid and his brother would go elsewhere.

From another site:
Alex Kline@TheRecruitScoop
Rice transfer Dylan Ennis has cut his list of options to Villanova, Boston College, Virginia, Virginia Tech & Cincinnati.
@SwagAir reporting Ennis will visit Villanova and Cincinnati this spring. Nova on top at this point with Bearcats #2.
Andrew @BearcatReport
#Cincinnati is lining up a visit with a basketball player later this month. Very, very key for Cronin's recruitment.
That player is Ennis, who will be visiting next weekend.
Also Rodney Hood is transferring from Mississippi State, I know UC has some involvement in his recruitment out of high school but most sources are indicating he'll probably end up at Louisville.

That statement is a little worrisome to me. Does that mean they dont feel good about any PG's in the class of 2013 to feel Ennis is "very, very key"...? I mean he's a transfer who averaged 8 PPG.

I think he is saying that getting the visit is key to the recruitment of Ennis. I don't think it means that getting Ennis is essential to the team's recruiting goals for the next couple of years.
No one ever accused Andrew Force of effectively communicating.

Thanks man. I hope that is what he means. It would be disturbing if he meant he was essential to the team's recruiting goals over the next few years.

Could also mean it greatly increases UC's chance with his brother, who is a big time recruit and would be "key"
