I guess Trayvon watched a lot of 1970s Richard Pryor standup. He also called Zimmerman a jive turkey and proceeded to do The Twist (like he did last summer!)

Are you saying you take speculation of people who weren't there as fact but dismiss the words of an participant in the event?

Depends on if it makes Zimmerman hang or not...

NBC played the 911 tape:

Zimmerman: he looks like he's up to no good. He looks black.

RACIST!

Oh, but unedited by NBC it goes something like this:

Zman: he looks like he's up to no good.
Dispatcher: Is he white, black, hispanic?
Zman: He looks black.

Zimmerman must have watched Hustle and Flow before committing murder

This is over the top and unwarranted.

It is very doubtful that he committed murder in even the worst case. Murder requires specific elements that are unlikely to be present no matter what the facts prove to be.

Saying "before killing Martin" would have been accurate; saying "before committing murder" isn't.

Is murder really doubtful? He was following the guy. Plenty of time to premeditate on what to do in different scenarios. And even if not first degree and he can argue heat of passion that's still murder.

I'm just saying I think it sounds made up. Maybe the detective made that up for some unknown reason though, you're right.

LOL okay. I haven't heard the phrase in at least 5 years if not 10, and I consider myself fairly hip.

No I definitely don't still hear homie. At least 10 years ago "homie" became "homes" and I don't think I hear "homes" anymore either. And homes became home slice IIRC.

Where do you live that people still say homie? Kansas, where trends are 10 years behind (South Park reference)?

A brief search of twitter indicates numerous instances of the word homie including tweets by Lebron James, Busta Rymes and names like "da big homie" and THE BIG HOMIE to name a few.

Guess you should turn in your "hip" credentials there homie.

Cardinal rule of hip (and something every parent of a teenager knows well): Asserting your hip-ness only confirms you are a dork.

:ncaabbs:

when you say you're hip it means you know about bon iver, not about black people. No black guy would describe himself as being hip

Ronald Reagan wasn't supposed to be trusted.
