If I was scheduling this game, it would be scheduled similar to last year. When you have a chance to mazimize revenue and bring the most enjoyment to the most number of fans, you take it. Scheduling 101.

Yeah, gotta love those Saturday before Thanksgiving-Week 12 games against Kent or Akron in front of 3,000.

Hey, we r not emu. We don't do that bad, last home game of the year last year attendance was pretty good.

The game should be early or I prefer the last game of the year, was nothing better than walking off the field your last time as a bronco beating the **** out of cmu.

Got this off the NIU board.

How does this show up in the Orlando Sentinel? MLive...are you reading this?

Southerners love football.

Midwesterners....love going around on their hoverrounds while tailgating at their Big Ten school of choice that they didn't attend.

Seriously, UCF starts football in the mid 90's and already has a 45,000 seat home stadium that they own. That's not happening in the MAC.

Akron has a brand new stadium that they will pack 3,000 or so fans in 5 times a year.
I agree about the south, football is huge but even they struggle when it comes to Sun Belt teams. UCF is kind of a freak in a huge football state that had nothing in the middle. UCF has a huge student population. USF also filled that void on a similar timeframe.

RE: 2012 schedule
There is potential for massive ticket sales this year.

At Illinois will be a close game.
Communiversity Night will be PACKED.
IF we can go up to Minnesota and pull the upset, hosting UCONN should be PACKED.
IF the crowd likes what they see against UCONN, hosting Toledo should be PACKED. And we'll need a full house to disrupt that offense a little so we don't HAVE to score 70 to win.

RE: 2012 schedule
Just now noticed a couple of things about our schedule:

- No more of those weekday night games for TV. All games are on Saturday.

- We have no bye week scheduled. It appears that we will finish the season one week ahead instead.

RE: 2012 schedule
I don't get what all the fuss is about playing CMU in November. It is CMU for gosh sakes. I'd play CMU where ever, whenever, however just to have the chance to beat their ass. It is the first weekend in November - who cares if its in the 30s. By this time the conference standings will be pretty much set and this game will have even more meaning. Get over it. Man up. Attend the game. **** Central.

RE: 2012 schedule
We have always been one of attendance leaders in MAC. Five of top ten home crowds in conference history have been at Waldo.

I remember in '65, Doo's second year, we set the MAC attendance record for the first time (22,800 approx.) for Homecoming against Kent.

Outside a couple second-place finishes, we had been second-division since joining MAC in 1948. Quite a point of pride for us to set the crowd record at that time.

People will turn out for CMU game whenever it's played - EXCEPT on a week night.

So I'm guessing because there isn't a week night game, we aren't getting on National TV this year. (except for big 10 network games..)

Mid week football is great! Makes Saturday seem a lot less further away.
