RE: Cincinnati won't play at Paul Brown Stadium
I'll add one idea to get better fan support .... schedule as many UC home games as possible as night games.

For Cincinnatians night games are attended so much better. I don't know if its scheduling conflicts with kids soccer games or people wanting to watch Buckeye games or what it is. But night games are just better. Add in that most fans get a little more lubed up from the alcohol for night games and the stadium is not only fuller but louder.

Gametimes are determined by the networks. UC can't do anything about them.

True. I agree with nacho about how much better night games are though. I thought both Paul Brown games being at noon made a big difference, students are barely awake by then and families are busy.

PBS was like a morgue for our games last year, but so is Nippert for noon games. Night games are where it's at.

This. And i know we don't have much control over it, but this factor more than anything besides winning, contributes greatly to our attendance.

Cincinnati won't play at Paul Brown Stadium
Published: March 28, 2012 2:16 PM
By The Associated Press JOE KAY (AP Sports Writer)

CINCINNATI - (AP) -- The University of Cincinnati has changed its philosophy about playing home games in Paul Brown Stadium.

After a two-year experiment that included three games at the NFL stadium downtown, the Bearcats are returning to campus for 2012. They're playing seven home games at 35,000-seat Nippert Stadium, which coach Butch Jones and players prefer.

Athletics director Whit Babcock told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he hasn't ruled out playing games at the Cincinnati Bengals' stadium in future years, but he's more inclined to revamp Nippert Stadium and play there. The Bearcats played Louisville and West Virginia at Paul Brown last season, drawing crowds of 40,000 and 48,000.

Babcock says games at Paul Brown need to draw bigger crowds in order to make sense financially.

mike brown probably charged a mint. Cheapskate wouldnt build a practice bubble for the bungles so why should we pay him a wad of money for some games. Parking ticket prices more than doubled at PBS. kEEP THE games at Nippert, even if it's O$U Playing

I am not sure how many more years are needed to convence UC that games at Nippert do not draw as well as PBS.
If you want to attrack quality out of conference opponents the games must be played at PBS.
Sure UC has Purdue coming but after that nobody. Oh I forgot Stonybrook and Northwestern State are coming. Those two games will be lucky to draw a total of 48,000 which is what UC drew at PBS against WVU.
There are many schools that play in NFL stadiums and UC should be one of them until such time Nippert is brought up to a major college standard.

Its not about attendance numbers it is about money! If the University of Cincinnati can make more money at PBS they will play games at PBS. Not a single team on the schedule this year is going make UC more money at PBS. If Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida, USC, or any other national name was coming to town that game would be played downtown.

Exactly. PBS will be used if the money makes it the better option. If Nippert makes the most financial sense, it will be used. There is no team on the schedule in the next few seasons that makes PBS the better financial choice.

I prefer games at Nippert but my @ ss prefers PBS. Bearcat FB success has put me on intimate terms with season ticket holders next to me... I would think anyone larger than an average 12 year old would be cramped for space.
