RE: REMINDER: "Pro-Lifers" don't genuinely care about human life....
BTW the website that I got that from advocates some pretty crazy stuff. They seem to think that it is an injustice to require parents to be notified if their underage daughter is seeking an abortion. They hate it even more that they might also have to get parental permission.

When we're presented with a conflict like "If we bomb Libya we might kill a thousand people but we'll prevent the imminent slaughter of 100,000 people", I'll support it but we have to be especially careful in such cases, mindful of unintended consequences.
Abortion is a difficult issue and to me it's a question of when human life begins, and I don't know. I don't think it begins at conception, and I don't think it begins when the umbelical cord is cut. So I oppose both extremes on that issue and as long as the law is reasonable I'm satisfied.
No offense, but I think your thoughts about being pro life, are a bit inconsistent. I especially take issue with the "...it's a question of when human life begins, and I don't know" statement.
The problem is that if we "don't know" when life begins, then shouldn't we assume that it has begun, exactly for the fact that we don't know any differently?
Isn't this the same thought process used by someone against capital punishment--what if the jury was wrong, and the person convicted didn't commit the crime? That we'll never know for sure, so it would be "wrong" to execute someone?

A person without health insurance, a person convicted by a jury (perhaps wrongly), innocent women and children killed by cluster bombs, and a person who's stealing a car stereo or in your home for whatever reason even if he's no threat to your life....
..... you're a big fat hypocrite.
Yes I'm calling most Christian rightists big fat hypocrites. The truth hurts.
I think you just made my point about why I think your view on your being "pro life" is inconsistent. You, "perhaps wrongly", judge the unborn as not possessing life. So, why call others hypocrites for what you do yourself?
Excellent point. I would like to see how Max responds...
