Was it just my internet, or was that a very awkward moment at the end of that video?

Yeah, they weren't in any hurry to get "back to you, Rick!"

That is because that is the raw video feed from the "look live" interview. The video was slowed down at the end to make sure that in the rare occurrence that the director did not call for the switch away from that source to the live camera in the studio - the recorded video does not "go to black".. Going " to black" is pretty much the biggest no-no in television outside of the 7 dirty words and wardrobe malfunctions!
