NEWSFLASH: NIU is not very good at basketball.

And newsflash: Neither is UMass

Good chance they're a top 25 team next year.

Hopefully they are ranked when they come to the Convo so we fill the place up a bit.

With whom, UMass fans?? I did not see too many Huskie fans at the Convo last year. I do not think we have many BB fans sitting at home, either.

You don't think that we would see and attendance bump just because we would be playing a ranked team at home?

I am not saying that the Convo will be packed but if the game is on the weekend it should get a bigger crowd than any home game this past season.

UMass, whether they're ranked or not, just doesn't have the name recognition with the casual fan. I'd say we get a max of 2000 for the game.

No. As shameful as it is, there are not many who right now will admit to being a Huskie BB fan. And, of those few, a much lesser few actually attend the games. Once we start winning, then more will suddenly become Huskie BB fans and jump on the bandwagon.

I thought our biggest crowd was around 1900 this past season.

I'd agree with Huskiebob, unfortunately. Who wants to see the team get crushed, unless it's by a more locally known team like Purdue or something. Is the BB schedule out? It would depend on what we've done up to that point.
