The Lady Rockets taken on VCU tonight at Savage at 7pm in the 3rd round of the WNIT. VCU beat BGSUcks by 1 at Stroh in the 1st round and beat St Joe's by 2 in OT in the second round.

Toledo beat VCU 81-64 tonight to advance to the WNIT Elite 8. Toledo will host Syracuse for the 2nd straight season in the WNIT Elite 8. 3,042 were in attendance this evening for the Sweet 16 game at Savage Arena. Last year there was over 5,000 in attendance for the Elite 8 game against Syracuse. Given another Saturday afternoon game and the whole UT/Syracuse football PAT fiasco from last fall, I would expect over 5,000 in attendance once again. Some people from other MAC schools might care less about what they call a 2nd tier tournament, but Toledo will be making some dough from these home games.......just like they did last year.

And one of their freshman basketball players admitted that videos of the WNIT championship run last year sealed the deal in her coming to Toledo so it's a big recruiting tool too.

that 3k+ tonight was super loud. Students roared, and there were times where fans didn't sit down for many posessions. After every big shot people were going crazy... Love this time of the year. Cuse was one of the last teams left out of the tourney again this year. Going to be a battle!

Yep, the crowd literally threw VCU off their game in the last 5 minutes or so of the game. When it got so loud that you couldn't hear anything, VCU started making mistakes. Missed easy shots and a couple of turnovers. A couple of blown defensive assignments too. The crowd definitely made a difference.

Toledo has their Elite 8 game at 2:00pm. GO ROCKETS!!!!!

Well I got into both, and I chose TOLEDO!

Someone really needs to create an academics board for these Ohio fans.

Few things are worse than the NIT. The women's NIT would be one of those things.
