Good article on Temple's ex-president Liacouras's vision of Temple and Big East.

I love this article!! It's one of the few feel good stories of conference realignment.

What makes it even more impressive is that he had to follow former Temple and current Memphis AD RC Johnson. Folks here in Memphis are glad he's finally being "retired" by the boosters so he can't do any more damage. We got in the Big East because of a lot of people, but RC Johnson isn't one of them.

I know the feeling. He was basically run off by Temple boosters and alums. A total trainwreck.

Glad you got in despite him.

So that makes two schools in a row here he was run off by boosters and alums. Hopefully, he stays retired so he doesn't ruin any more schools.

I disagree. RC's long-standing personal friendship with Marrinato and other Big East officials helped. He is highly respected in NCAA circles (as evidenced by the various councils and committees he served on) despite his role as favotirite scapegoat for everything that went wrong by locals. He is retiring due to his age - I just hope that our next AD is as qualified and effective as he has been.

Your opinion is based on nothing more than ignorance and blind faith. My statements are based on information I've gotten from multiple sources who have inside information.

RC is a joke.

He was forced to retire.

The story in the Commercial Appeal about how we got in the Big East was a heavily edited and sanitized version which lacked 95% of the information about how we really got in.

The guy has been a bumbling idiot since day one and the boosters had finally had enough. He was definitely forced out.

Our next AD will look brilliant by comparison. I just hope that they find someone good for the first time ever.

Sorry. Mack Rhodes is already employed. 03-lmfao (I couldn't resist.) Seriously, I hope you find someone who knows how good Memphis athletics is, was, and could very well be in the future, especially on the gridiron. I want you guys to be good at football again, damn it! 04-cheers

Very good article. I have friends who went to Temple and they're pumped about the move for basketball purposes. But they're still stung by football too much to care about it. I suspect that will change. And as I said Friday to them when we were watching the Temple-USF game, you can just try and pay them back in the fall now.

Me too. I can only remember the good teams a few years back with DeAngelo Williams and the three consecutive 6-5 teams Chuck Stobart had while I was in college. Most of my memories of Tiger football has been of losing. The few times that I can remember winnning seasons, they felt great. Especially sweet for a diehard fan who is there win or lose. It's easy to be a fan when a team is winning. It's tough being a fan when they're not.

I think most of us here can relate to that easily.
