Charlotte, The SBC, CUSA, A10
Charlotte is currently a hot topic of conversation. Currently a member of the non football Atlantic 10, they are starting a football program, and being in Charlotte market has a lot of people interested in them, including apparently the Sun Belt:

I also have heard that the CUSA is very interested in Charlotte for that TV market. Since football seems to be the priority at schools that play it, my guess is that they will end up in the CUSA again, but if they went with the SBC they would be coming home again too. UTSA in the SBC would reunite us with an old conference mate as well.

The Atlantic 10 is rumored to be picking up Butler, and if they lose Charlotte, will probably be looking to add another school whose priority is basketball.

Notice it's the University of Charlotte, not UNC-Charlotte.

It is still officially UNC-Charlotte. But like Chattanooga, Milwaukee, etc., they decided that their identity was better defined by just going by their city's name. Of course Little Rock should do the same, but like everything else in this state, we are behind the curve.

Just from looking around the net since I originally posted this, I can tell you that I am totally confused as to what Charlotte is up to.
