You almost get the feeling like Boehiem will be glad when this year is over with.

I think given all of this now- there's a good chance that he never coaches again after this season.

RE: Fab Melo not eligible for NCAA tournament
It is BS.

The NCAA suspended Fab Melo, not Syracuse, and it was over the earlier academic issues that he sat three games for and the NCAA allowed him to play again. They have "revisited" that decision days after Boeheim contradicted the drug report. I cannot wait, cannot bleeping wait for the end of the corrupt NCAA.

I am not saying Fab Melo had his academics in order but to "revisit" a decision you should have clarified a month ago a day before the tournament started is an awful move by the NCAA.

SU has become a pretty dirty program. I'd say the BE is getting cleaner by losing them, but we've replaced them with UCF, who is just as dirty and has just as many NCAA problems, except without any of the success.

This is the part I don't get. Kentucky and Calimari are making a mockery of the NCAA. Cal recruits bunch of kids who basically use Kentucky as a rest stop to the NBA yet no one is questioning how this bunch somehow pass the APR every year? Granted I am no expert on NCAA's APR thing, but how is Kentucky keep it going by laughing their a**es off at the NCAA every year?

If you leave a university (either transfer or to the NBA) in good standing I do not believe you take an APR hit.

Dude, whatever. This issue stems forth from the same academic issues earlier when Fab was out. The Ncaa looked at his work and said he didnt complete all of the work so he's out and he's going to the NBA now. Theres an article on CBS Sportsline about it.

I really don't have any ill will towards Syracuse for leaving to the ACC, but thank god the Big East wiped their hands of this mess of a program.

RE: Fab Melo not eligible for NCAA tournament
This is a big reason why I'm against one and done players. If they have no interest in an education, they should be able to compete in the NBA's developmental league for a year. The NBA gets to evaluate their talent, and schools don't have to waste a scholarship on somebody who has no interest in anything beyond playing ball in the NBA eventually...

This is the 100 million dollar question. There is some serious money changing hands in Lexington. Not sure how the NCAA has ignored for so long. If you start to hear rumors about Coach Slimeball slithering off to the NBA, you can bet The NCAA is at UK's door.

This isn't a Syracuse problem, it's a Fab Melo problem. Lets all try to remember that. Syracuse fans know where to place the blame. We need to follow their example.

It looks like it was Syracuse and not the NCAA that declared Fab ineligible. So Fab screws over his team and the community. What good is the NBA rule requiring guys to go to school for a year if they can leave without accomplishing a damn thing in the class room and put their school on probation through bad conduct or low APR scores?

Talk about bad timing.

Boeheim said during the Big East Tourn (before Cinci beat them) that no situation or incidences can faze this team...nothing rattles them.

What better time than now to prove it.

If Cuse can balance the scoring out...shoot good percentage 3's...there are not any GREAT teams in this year's tourn...so they as well as anyone has a shot at winning it all.

I assume they're doing it now to avoid being in UConn's position in the future--banned from a future tournament--but why it took so long is the question. Perhaps there was an internal debate and whoever was running the numbers won out in a long, protracted tussle with the coaching staff.

UConn case is entirely different. NCAA changed a ruling on teams had to have a required APR/grading score after the year was complete to be eligible for NCAA tournament. Every school now knows to pad their roster with high GPA players who won't see any action.

Not needed.

All schools need is for great players and other role players to continue to do just the minimum needed to stay eligibile and advanced.

One doesn't need 3.0 or 4.0 players if your stars are just doing the NCAA minimum (which is very easy to do).

Problem for several schools...some weren't doing squat...hence the heavy penalty to a few.
