Guess so... but I will NEVER understand anyone who supports AK. Huggins, sure. He gave 16 years of his life to build UC into a national power. AK spent 7 months doing everything he could to bury the program built by Huggins (with Huggins' blessing). I have no interest in ever having him mentioned as a UC coach in the future. Huggins is a HOF coach, AK is nothing.

Too many good posts to pick from, so I'll just say great posts mark, Coop and especially Murph. I'm amazed at how many folks seem to buy into every conspiracy or rumor they hear - no matter how illogical.

I'll always love Huggs and appreciate AK, but the best part is the perfect coach right now for UC already has the job!

Easy... he wanted to destroy what he built because of an idiot president. Sadly, I can at least put myself in his shoes and understand why he would do that. AK is a totally different story...

So it doesn't bother you that in the last "Huggs Unplugged," the week after the NIT loss thanks to 2 players being declared academically ineligible, that both coaches were giving high fives and openly bragging about killing UC's program? Honestly, I can't help but SMH at people here. And I paid for the RenewHuggins.com site (domain and hosting) that 1125 ran back in 2005! If I hated Huggins I would NEVER have done that. It is principal... I love UC above and beyond any 1 coach, player, or president. If someone actively tries to destroy something, whether they built it or not, I'm not going to be a huge fan of theirs. Zimpher, AK, and Huggins all did that. I therefore hold them all in the same vein now. As Huggins once said so gracefully... 'F*ck them.'

only in Cincinnati can this debate be rehashed after the biggest win UC has had in the tournament in 20 years (and the first win EVER over a higher seed).

RE: Tracking the head coach firings/hirings
At this point who the F cares? The board is divided on AK and Huggs, but we are not divided on Cronin and the program. Things are great at UC again. The incredible damage done to the program that left us an afterthought for half a decade has been remedied. The Bearcats are the big time college program they once again should be. As I said. I'll always hope AK succeeds for the work he put in while here and the way the players fought so hard that year he coached here. I loved watching that team do battle. Whatever either allegedly said at that after season deal, I don't know that they could have done anything else. The program was going to have to start over no matter what.

I'll always wish Huggs the very best. I enjoyed watching his Bearcat teams forever.

But again at this point who the F cares. Things are too good to be worrying about this stuff right now.

Think positively.

All of of which you write about had to happen in order to get us where we are today...

IN THE SWEET SIXTEEN AND PLAYING OSU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And in the process, no police horses were hit, guns were not dropped while a happy student strolled on campus, no player tied another student to a chair and tortured them, no assistant fell asleep at a red light, and no coaches puked out of car windows.

If count Mongo I guess you could say a horse did get hit under the present regime, but Yancy apologized for that.

I'm so happy to be a Bearcat fan I could kiss AK, or better yet, his wife.

I don't buy that stuff about huggs and ak sabotaging the program. Hell if you recall there were people who swore that skip prosser was secretly hired while the season was still going on. Folks on this board don't lack imagination that's for sure.

In the end both huggs and ak are somewhere fishing while mick is getting ready to play in the sweet 16.

Once the fan base can gel like the team watch out we'll be dangerous. Does everyone know we are in the sweet sixteen and just beat the acc champ?

Exactly. And if you want to really do it right, you'd go all passive-aggressive and throw in your comments on the subject while simultaneously telling everyone else to move on and get with it (not directed at lush btw).

Can we please go one more step and make it a rule that whenever any thread devolves into who is pro or con Huggins it will go directly to the smack board. If anyone outside of UC fans reads this **** they have to wonder what the hell is wrong with UC "fans".

ill help get this topic back on track...

not sure if this was said but Rick Stansbury at Miss St "retired" likely a forced resignation though. Interesting that if AK were to leave both Mississippi schools would have openings.

also surprised no PAC-12 coaches fired. I'm surprised Howland survived at UCLA and ASU and USC didnt make changes.

No one has to enter this thread. If you don't want to read it don't but by the amount of views and replies it's still very much a hot topic. So let it be.

But the people interested in the actual thread topic have to wade through crap tons of Huggins stuff to read anything.

I think Howland has a great recruiting class coming in next year plus they're opening up a new arena next year I believe.
