OT- BG KNOCKS #1 FERRIS OUT
BGSU just knocked CCHA #1 and NCAA #2 Ferris State OUT of the CCHA Tournament.

Dan DeSalvo with the game-winning goal and a hat trick. He has 10 goals over the past 2 weekends.
The Falcons were down 0-3 in the first period; they scored 4 straight unanswered goals.

Final Score 4-3 (OT)

They will now make their first trip to Detroit for the CCHA Semifinals in over 10 years.

Let me just say. HOLY HELL WHAT THE **** YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME GO FALCONS!!!

As a sidenote there are 3 MAC teams in the CCHA Semifinals. (BGSU, Miami, and WMU)

Congrats to the Falcons. Great job. Your team has caught fire lately and I'm not so sure that Michigan wants to play you right now.

Looks like the timetable for the resurgence of BG hockey is accelerating.

They picked the right time of year to get hot. I doubt they'll be able to pull off two more huge upsets next weekend, but it's good to know that they're a lot of freshmen and sophomores.

If BG can continue to improve next season and make the NCAA tournament, they'll be guaranteed to get a "home" game in Toledo, since BG is the designated host team for the regional in Toledo next year.

I'm pretty sure that's the first time the regionals will be in Toledo too. (At least as far back as my short-term memory goes.)

Wow, what a time to get hot. Congrats to BG. Lots of 'MAC' flavor at Joe Louis Arena next weekend.

While I'll enjoy the new NCHC and the challenges ahead there, I'll miss the CCHA. I like the close regionality, and the blend of small and large schools.
