"NaPalm" 40 ranks 1st at combine?!?
Rumor has it Nate ran a 4.28 unofficial time and 4.33 official time! 04-jawdrop If this is true his 40 time would have ranked 1st at the combine in all positions. I remember tweeting Nate a week before he ran and asked what he was aiming for and he replied 4.2s. Thought he was reaching a bit but hey kudos to you NaPalm!! 04-rock

Combine times always seem a little slower than Pro Days.

Very true, but to our guys credit they did run in 30 degree weather. Not to mention they still use stop watches at the combine for unofficial times.

Makes me wonder what happened to him while he was here. Great Freshman season, disappeared as a sophmore and junior, then came to life in the MAC championship and Go Daddy bowl. He had such potential. Injuries?

We are very deep at wide receiver. Each game one of the receivers stood out. Palmer, Moore, Clark, etc. You try to shut down one and someone else has a big game.

Actually, his freshman season was a huge game against Minnesota (who played all of Hennepin County within three yards of the LOS in that game) and not much else. He was pretty darn good as a junior, but as mentioned above, there were a lot of quality receivers with vaguely the same skill sets.

It took him a long time to figure out how to do anything other than run really fast and hope the ball was there. Even now, he has a lot to learn to be a complete receiver. He destroyed the MAC over the last two years on the goal line slant. He won't get to do that at the next level, but I sure hope his speed gives him the opportunity.

Maybe Tampa can draft him and he can learn from PJ.

Wind might have played a factor as well. Regardless that is a stupid fast time even if he got the benefit of 7 or 8 hundredths.

When I think of bench pressing, the old Nautilus health club used to have a competition back in the mid 80s. They had a competition where you would do 1.25 times your weight for as many reps. The guy who won the competition(he was Mr. NIU 3 years straight) weighed about 180. He put up 225 32 times.

That is nerve wracking just to watch! You gotta give them credit just for performing under pressure.

Daaaaayum!

In Iraq I was up to 190...194 and I could do three sets of 10 at 225 but I wasn't doing any cardio. Dunno how many reps I could do if I had tried. I'm sure my 40 would have been horrendous. haha
