RE: Postgame/Post BE Tournament thoughts
Mick was criticized by some for his comments about the Big East tourney being tougher than the NCAA. In the case of UC he was absolutely right. They played and beat a likely #4 seed Georgetown in 2OT then had to come back the next day to play and defeat a #1 seed; and then played a likely #4 seed day three. The NCAA has two game sets with a day off; no team ever has to run that kind of guantlet. They've turned into an excellent team, made the city proud; simply ran out of gas last night. The will was there late but they were physically drained. We should be very proud of these 'Cats and expect a strong NCAA run.

While I agree a bit they were overconfident, I think both mentally and physically they were gassed. 2 very tough games and a lot of minutes for the starters. Great effort over the course of the tourney and a team that makes you proud. I also think Mick made a mistake by playing a zone against UL, they beat them the first time by playing man to man. Syracuse had our number with their zone and Friday's game is the first time UC has been effective against it.

If UC had just played and lost by 4 in their third game in the real tourney having beaten a 3 seed and 1 seed to do it eventually losing to a 4 seed there's no one on here that would be upset with that run.

And like someone said earlier legs and mental fatigue aren't as much of a problem in the NC2A because the games aren't back to back.

Cats will be just fine. The loss to UofL might have made them that much hungrier to make a run.

And even with what I considered very biased officiating, with their home fans filling the arena, Cincy nearly played well enough to win.

Call me nuts, but I think this team is better than the team that lost to Stanford in the sweet 16.

I have said it many times but it is worth repeating... Louisville is damn near impossible to score on when the refs swallow their whistles and let them grab, bump and slap you the entire game. Combine that with UC not hitting outside shots and missing the few free throws they had and you get today's result. Hell had UC gone 5-8 from the line instead of 1-8 they may have won the game (I know scoreboard says they lose by 2, but that changes how we play in the last minute) and I think swings a few plays where we were deflated after misses.

I was incredibly proud of the defensive effort today. I think after the last two draining games the mental execution on offense was not quite their. And again, Louisville is the most dependent team in the country on how the refs choose to officiate the game. If they are allowed to get away with their grabbing, bumping and slapping they are a top 10 caliber team. I always hate losing to them, but great run for the Cats... lets get to New Orleans.

Cannot wait until he is gone. Terrible senior. He does NOTHING with purpose.

Overall I am happy with the tournament, it was a huge step for Mick's program. It was frustrating because I think we are abetter team that UL. We made mistakes that we hadn't made the first two games.

Pitino's interview after the game summed up how I felt. He said something like "We're exactly the same type of team, we all do the same things." Unfortunately that is right, and this is the kind of game that results when it's combined with Big East officiating.

I am very excited about our NCAA games. I think it is safe to say that no one will be looking forward to playing the Bearcats.

Exactly why I could see an early round loss for them.

I agree about the refs. Louisville struggles when the game is called tight, but is very tough to beat when the refs allow them hack constantly, like last night. But we did not play well enough to overcome it. Still a great run.

I am in agreement that Dixon needs to step up his game; however some are being a little hard on his play. Granted, when he is not shooting well and turning the ball over, he is an offensive liability. On the other hand, he plays good defense and helps greatly on the boards. He just needs to adjust his game. He should live by these two rules. If Dion does not have an open look within 20 feet, he should under no circumstances shoot. If Dion has an opportunity to pass the ball to Cashmere in order to bring the ball up the court, he must pass the ball.
