They said that in the postgame conference. Just completely unacceptable, that is the biggest concern I have with this team. How many lessons do you need before you stop that BS?

RE: Postgame/Post BE Tournament thoughts
Syracuse wasn't the first team to expose Cincy with the press. Marquette did it too. And others. What was great about this game is no team has ever pressed Cincy like UL did. They did it for 40 minutes. And they even did it on missed UL shots. And after scoring only 14 in the first half...they scored 30 against it in the 2nd. With Parker missing two twice. And some real bonehead turnovers (see Jackson).

No team will do this to Cincy in the NCAAs. Most conferences don't even play much defense period. And yes Cincy had the toughest road. But I wouldn't change that for anything. What a run!! Law of averages says they were due for a loss against (another) top 15 RPI team. They have 5 wins against them on the season.
Wish we'd won. But I feel very good going forward.

RE: Postgame/Post BE Tournament thoughts
Calipari had a relevant quote on his Kentucky team. Something about swagger and confidence being good but arrogance being bad.

I'm more proud that we beat Syracuse than lost tonight, but I thought we played very poorly and still had a tight game. I've been preaching Parker over Dixon for awhile now, and although thats finally come to fruition BOTH of them disappointed me with FT shooting tonight. They pressure us heavily on the three line and we made one single foul shot all game, by our center no less.

Upset cuz I think we were the better team and missed a golden opportunity to call ourselves BE champs and send Yancy out on that note. If we make sweet sixteen I will forget all about it.

Who watched the Missouri game. All the hype about Missouri, but Baylor's defense was absolutely horrid. And Missouri is a 2 seed. Cincy would pound them the same way this year as last.

Actually. The free throw shooting has been bad both ways all Tourney. Tired legs? UL didn't do so well either. Except for those 3 in a row by Kuric. Which you knew was going to happen.

As bad as Cincy looked offensively...we tend to look at it only one way. UL's offense looked just as bad. After they went up 16, Cincy completely shut them down the rest of the way. Their high powered offense only scored 50. Missed FTs and bonehead turnovers kept us from the win.

Most of us aren't gonna argue with you. Good defense and a lackluster offensive performance are the sum of the game. Not the end of the world.. we've seen we can do better. But tonight's loss was not a mystery.

March 10th, 2001 the Bearcats lost to Charlotte in the C-USA conference tournament finale. It lead to the Bearcats last Sweet 16. That season started with loses to Notre Dame, Xavier, and Toledo before the new year. The Bearcats finished strong to end the season but lost to a team in the conference tournament that had handled earlier in the season. They recieved a five seed and with a little bit of luck made it the second weekend.

I wouldn't be shocked to see that happen this year.

Yes. And they lost to the #1 overall seed Stanford (with their twin tower centers) in their own back yard. Satterfield had his best game as a Bearcat. And even with what I considered very biased officiating, with their home fans filling the arena, Cincy nearly played well enough to win.

They lost Satterfield, won the conference and conference tourney the next year, got the #1 seed, and lost in the 2nd round to UCLA in double OT.
