I noticed Jackson pull back to make sure he didn't foul him since he was already beat. Earlier in the season Jackson would've fouled him. He's learning.

With Jim Burr on the floor, they may have called continuation and allowed for a 3 point play or an intentional foul. Better safe than sorry.

That was a strange play. Yancy was rushed out from under the hoop like he was positive Sims was about to shoot a j, Sims drives right by him for the go ahead. I think he just got anxious and though less time was actually left.

you probably right. there was one pivotal drive i remember, where a gtown player drove and it seemed to me like he took an nba step. regardless, i think yancy got away with a couple pivotal reaches. funny how it all evens out. even the missed free throws. gtown brings the game into 2x regulations. and we win.

There was another GTown player at the 3 point line on the wing. I'm pretty sure Yancy was rushing out anticipating the kickout. If he stays home, Sims would've had the option of kicking for an open 3 for the win. Not saying it was right or wrong, but it was an understandable decision by Yancy IMO. It was just a good offensive set by GT.

that was the one where Sims made a move and took 3 steps to the basket. Doris Burke talked about the NBA type play that sims made but later in the 2nd half, she watched it again and said Sims might have gotten away with a travel.
Worries me to see refs miss the call where the Hoya drove down the foul lane and tripped over his own feet and slid on the floor between 2 uc players and the ref that was farthest away comes running towards them blowing his whistle and calling a Foul. Worries me to see any crew that Jim Burr is involved with.

Lots of missed calls in that game. There was an out of bounds called on us that a Gtown player clearly knocked out.

Yeah, wasn't for a lack of hustle. You could tell the last thing he thought was gonna happen was Sims taking it all the way. The Sims/Porter combo on offense is something else.

I thought they evened out for each side overall. I also thought they were consistent on both ends as far as how much contact underneath was allowed. Compared to some of the officiating in other games this tourney, we got one of the better called games yesterday.
