MAC benefited from increased national TV coverage with Temple and 6 millions is a sweet parting gift. MAC is starting to learn how the game is played. They made more money off Temple leaving than anything the MAC has done.

The only reason Temple went to the BE is because WVU left suddenly and Boise would not come early. Either of those things change Temple is still in the MAC.

True, but luck= preparation + opportunity.

Kudos to the MAC for actually being prepared. Now, let's see some more of that.

I hope that Temple can continue to schedule MAC opponents and help others realize how competitive this conference can be.

I am a little sad we never won a championship..or a division title..or beat a team with a winning record. Those are things that Temple fans acknowledge and are bothered by, trust me.

I know you guys are angry at Temple for "using" the conference. But you have to understand, the Big East is where Temple belongs and always has. It is our geography, history, peers...we are finally going home. Best of luck for the future

Classy post. Good luck to you.

After the UCF "experience", the MAC "powers to be" had to know what they were getting into when they threw Temple a football only membership "lifeline". Everyone knew if Temple got a better east coast based conference opportunity they'd be gone in a "NY minute". The way I look at it everyone here wins....Temple used its time in the MAC to improve its football and get a bowl win...now the MAC gets a $6MM windfall. The only real negative to the MAC is the "UMASS" problem we now inherit.

Which the MAC can solve by adding JMU and/or ODU for all sports. Puts the conference in the fast growing commonwealth of Virginia with 2 of the 3 largest Public U's that play football. JMU also led FCS in attendance last year(25K). Yep add these 2 and along with the largest football playing universities in New York State & the commonwealth of Massachusetts the MAC will be BIG in the EAST.

Exercise the two-year term contract for UMass and go back to 12 teams. Best solution for now until things stabilize in the college football world.

I think the fans are more upset with the previous MAC office than Temple. Yes your place is the BE but we just wanted a fat check to make ourselves feel good about not being as cheap of a whore as our previous pimp made us.

I will be rooting for you guys...this year at least...as you are a 100% MAC team transplanted in a "big boy" conference and doing well would hopefully open a few outsiders eyes that the top half of the MAC is fairly good at Football.

Temple is our biggest football rival a the moment (Marshall #2) and games against the Owls will be sorely missed.

With Temple now having UConn and Rutgers in conference and Pitt probably too snobby for a series fitting Ohio in makes a lot of sense, IMO.

Ohio then could drop the SBC/WAC game for a series with Temple, reducing travel costs in the process.

Ohio U and Temple are like two peas in a pod. One has never won the MAC and the other hasn't won it in 43 years.

I remember when people used to make fun of NIU for not winning the MAC in forever.

Ahh.

Or adding UMASS plus a quality number #14 for all sports. Seems like our main membership is so stable that the worst case scenario would be more buyout fees!

Just don't ever let the BE take it away from you again Temple.
Your fans sometimes seemed like they were lost in the desert without the BE.
