Syria would require ground forces and it could turn into another Iraq.

Yeah, total no-brainer to give weapons and aid to rebels so they could sodomize Gaddhafi with a knife and executed dozens of his supporters.

Let the European Union or the Trilateral Commission or the African Union or Médecins Sans Frontières or ASEAN or the Thundercats or the Bilderburg Group or Al-Jezera or the United Nations or the League of Nations or the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen or the Arab League or the Justice League or COBRA step up in Syria.

You left out the Wonder Pets. They're not too big and they're not too tough but when they work together they've got the right stuff.

If the alternative is the massacre of thousands, I call it a no brainer.

Riiiiight. How many classes did you take in military strategy? Another idiotic assumption by our resident socialist.

I think we should act to stop genocide when the costs are relatively reasonable.

What unintended consequences were there in Libya? Should we never do anything because there might be unintended consequences?

By all means share with me the wisdom of your military history 200 class.

So what is a "relatively reasonable" price to put on a life? Give us an exact number.

We won't know what the consequences will be for what we did in Libya for another 10 years. And first you don't want to police the world then you do? Make up your mind.

I think we should let Syria decide what to do about Syria. If we need to get involved then let Congress vote on it and level the entire country, then don't try to build our version of what their government should look like. This non war war via Kinetic Military Action is stupid. and so it forced democracy.

This seems horribly arbitrary to me. We should have a strong enough moral compass to make efforts to stop atrocities outside the US, unless it's too expensive? Holy cow...

"I'm sorry Madam Prime Minister (or Mr. Freedom Fighter), we'd like to help but oil prices went up last week and saving your folks is now over our limit. Check back with me next month - we'll take another look at the market."

And this, in a nutshell, is the problem with how liberals value the collective over the individual. You are no longer seen as a person, just a small piece of a much larger puzzle, expendable at any point.

Every time one of these crazy ass MOFO's in congress propose to send troops to other countries to address issues that have NOTHING to do with the security of the US?... They should be promptly taken out side and shot in the damn head.03-banghead

But we do know what the intended consequences of not stopping Gaddhafi would have meant--thousands of dead innocents.

Well we do have to be practical. We can't spend $T and have thousands of US soldiers die to save a neighborhood of 15 people. On the other end of the spectrum, if we can stop genocide of thousands by barely lifting a finger, we should. Where we draw the line exactly is certainly hard to say.

The Israeli Air Force has owned Syrian Air Defenses since 1982.

The IAF used non-stealth F-15's and F-16's to take out a Syrian/North Korean Nuclear Reactor in 2007, defeating some of the most sophisticated Russian Air Defense Syria had.

http://www.aviationweek.com/aw/blogs/def...6d649146cd

These Air Defenses will have to be taken out before Israel hits Iran, because these Radars could potentially give the Iranians a heads up that the IAF is on its way.

We drawn the line at the border...unless it is directly threatened.

Just WTF is the UN for? This sh!t should be THEIR problem. When these things occur...it should be a UNITED front. What happens though is the the US does the UN's dirty work. That sh!t needs to come to a screeching halt.
