When Mitchell and Franklin (NT's other big man) both got their 4th fouls, early in the 2nd half, I thought ASU had the game. NT had no one to stop Kirkland underneath. Probably jacked up a few too many 3's, although they hit a bunch of them.

I'm surprised it was as close as it ended up being. North Texas shot 58.7% from the field, 61.5% from the 3pt. line, and 93.3% from the FT line. How do you beat a team that shoots like that? You usually don't. ASU only played seven guys. North Texas played ten. They may have run out of gas.

Boy, could we have used Trey Finn. He's turned into one damn good and dependable player.

How damn good would NT be if they didn't lose their top 2 scores to academics in early January? It's scary to think about it. it's also scary to think that Mitchell may not leave for the NBA draft after this season.

I wish you wouldn't mention that name. It pisses me off every time I think about that kid, and how he stiffed us at the last minute. But he is a very good player. Just playing for the wrong Arkansas school.03-banghead

I think ASU's got four starters back next year, or at least four who started today's game. I'd bet right now that we'll have a couple of good battles with the Woofs.

We always do. Both games this year were decided by a shot with less that a second left. ASU missed a 2 foot put back at their place and we hit foul shots at our place.

You can just about count on a battle down to the wire when we play each other. A great rivalry.
