RE: Wrestling!
Small wins!!!
BUT CMU won its consolation match.
We are 1-2 while they are 3-0.
Need Miller to win and Kielbasa to lose at 149.
65-57

RE: Wrestling!
Should have never been this close coming into it. Like I said, this CMU team is the weakest in a decade or longer and once again we find a way to blow it.

The middle of the line-up didn't produce as hoped for at 157, 165, and 174. It's not over...yet.
Schuster wins consol at 157 but CMU took first. They haven't lost any of their 5 matches. We are 3-2.
67-64 CMU
Tice wins with a pin!! Need UB to beat CMU at 165.

RE: Wrestling!
Can Bedelyon be challenged for true second offering additional points?
Putting our fate in a Buffalo guy's hands is foolish.
Nic may have just cost himself any outside shot at a national title. His path in St. Louis will now be much more difficult.
What a depressing weekend.

RE: Wrestling!
I can't recall how the true 2nd matches - scoring works.
Remember, CMU only has 1 more wrestler in the finals. We have 2.
CMU wins 165 in OT.

RE: Wrestling!
CMU is doing what they have to. The just upset Lewandowski from Buffalo in OT. It's looking grim. Neither school has anybody wrestling at 174.

RE: Wrestling!
CMU winning at 165 kept Tice from having a chance to wrestle up to second so it was a double whammy.

Newburg just got stuck at 184. Bad day for him, pinned twice. Fat lady is on the stage and warming up...vigorously.

I would seriously make about half our team find its own way back from Athens.

Newberg just got pinned in the 184 consolation. Second time he was pinned today. Bennett for CMU will probably win the championship so I think that does it.

That Newberg loss costs him a NCAA bid.

In a weight class with 3 bids, that is a tough loss. He beat the OU kid earlier this year.
85-70

Good discussion here going guys. We have a few people updating at our scout our site. It would be nice if the MAC stream showed the time/scoring a little clearer.

RE: Wrestling!
I doubt the singlets have much to with it. My first red flag went up the night of the Buffalo match. We allowed those schmucks to come into our gym and totally dictate how the match went. They stalled. They refused to wrestle. And instead of getting all pissed off and elevating our style with some killer instinct we just stalled alongside them and putzed along.
