RE: Where to find MAC Sports on TV
Thought this would be good to use to help find MAC games on TV. Will probably be most useful to UMass fans. Been compiling this so I know how to find where they are playing on TV. Please add or edit to this list. I thought some may find it useful as I see often in game-threads some ask how to find the game.

Also, I wanted to add that even though the MAC Digital Network does not yet have its GoogleTV channel (coming soon), You can use the iPad and iPhone app to "airplay" over wireless wifi the live game broadcast to your Bigscreen HD TV via AppleTV. The games are not produced in HD yet as they are produced at the individual schools. I'm hoping the exit-fee money provided to the MAC from Temple can fix that.

We pay to have maybe one of our games on CSN...what a deal :muttering:

NIU fans would love it if all of our non ESPN2/U games could be on CSN but ESPN3.com really screws us there because CSN would have to pay ESPN then CSN would charge us for the ESPN3 fee + their fee.

The MAC missed an opportunity this summer to renegotiate with ESPN to NOT include ESPN3.com games in their first pick. This was not part of the original contract and it is limiting our potential viewers.

ONN is a mostly tOSU and Miami-centric outlet, not a MAC one. I see only Miami and Ohio with a few MBB games, the 13 Miami hockey broadcasts, and Miami Magazine weekly.

There's more to it than that for hockey, too. CBS's contract doesn't really kick in until the NCHC forms, it would seem, although they have shown a few CCHA games. I don't really know the circumstances. FSDetroit also shows some, and there may be some more shown in Ohio. I think some of BGSU's games are shown locally.

RE: Where to find MAC Sports on TV
My big gripe is that, as somebody who does not live in Ohio (or in the MAC footprint), STO is not a good option for me, especially during basketball season.

I have Dish network, pay a little extra for the regional sports pack, which gets me STO. As far as I can tell, the only programs that are blacked out to me are..........the Pro sports (for obvious reasons) and MAC (men's) basketball. During fall I pay extra for ESPN Gameplan, which gets me lots of MAC fb games. I won't pay for hoops (Full Court), because there are so few games outside of the MAC that I care about and for the $$, it's not worth it to me.

What good is having STO carry MAC games if you are out of state and need to pay extra to cable/satellite carriers just to view the channel? Notice that they don't black out the women's BB games........

Just my $0.02

In the Chicago area we cannot get STO with cable (WOW/Comcast).

Do you WMU/MAC fans in SW Michigan area get Comcast Sports Net Chicago? What about WGN?

STO is available nationwide on ATT u-verse, DirecTV, or Dish. A starting point for the MAC and STO to partner to become the broadcast arm for the MAC reaching coast to coast.

How about getting our games on all the other providers and even better getting our games on the lower level packages of the providers within the MAC footprint so more people can view them.

This way we can reach most of the people within driving distance of our stadiums interested in what we have to offer. Hopefully they come check us out.

I think the conference should work on filling our stadiums/arenas before worrying about having our games on TV to the West of the Mississippi or South of the Mason Dixon line.

If this is done with STO fine if its done or some other channel I don't care.

In the Chicago area the MAC games of the week are on WPWR which is a broadcast station where no cable is needed. It would be great if we could have the games on STO broadcast on this channel...as long as 1-2 NIU home games are picked up in that deal.
