RE: Gardner-Webb...WHO
I really can't blame Pederson on this game simply because of the bind the Big East left Pitt. There are only so many quality OOC opponents out there and most was seeking a home game just like Pitt was. Even if WVU was still in the BE next season I'm almost sure this would've been our opponent anyways.

I heard that this game is only tentative? Is there still a chance that we could still schedule somebody else? For instance if Temple joins the Bigleast, could that open up some MAAC schedules?

I honestly don't know. Maybe the Temple game could end up being Sept 22 which opens up another date sometime later in the year. Or with Temple joining it could force us to take a game against a MAC school. Great question.

Our schedule next year is a wreck. The only game I am looking forward to is VT. Other than that our home slate is abysmal.

Who knows tho, maybe Louisville, Rutgers, and Temple may provide us some great games. I do think Louisville and Temple are going to be solid next season. But yea you right, other than VT its really hard to get excited of this schedule.

RE: Gardner-Webb...WHO
Don't take it the wrong way but it's just not a game I'm too excited for in light of our schedule for next year. If we had Penn State or WVU as a home game and Temple was in place of Gardner-Webb I would prefer it. At least then we could look forward to the VT, PSU/WVU, and to a lesser extent Temple, Louisville, Rutgers games.

It's no secret that Pitt has a hard time filling the stadium. Unfortunately, Louisville and Rutgers have never been able to move the meter in terms of fan excitement for Pitt. Though I know Temple is on the rise recently I don't expect them to bring much more excitement.

I suppose the bottom line is that it's not that I'm unhappy that we'll probably have Temple on the schedule, it's just that Temple is taking the place of WVU. WVU moved the meter.

Youngstown State
Gardner-Webb
VT
Buffalo
Louisville
Rutgers
Temple

I'm hoping to be:

A. Employed by then
B. Still in Pittsburgh

If even just B is true we'll all have to get together for the game. Can't football season just start already? :)
