A-Sun Tournament
Predictions on how things play out? Here's what I'd like to see.

QUARTER FINALS
Belmont over Jacksonville
UNF over ETSU
FGCU over USC Upstate
Lipscomb over Mercer

SEMI FINALS
Belmont over UNF
FGCU over Lipscomb

FINALS
Belmont over FGCU

I can hope, right?!

JU pulls the stunner
ETSU over UNF
Upstate over Gulf Coast
Mercer over Lipscomb.

ETSU over JU
Mercer over Upstate

Mercer over ETSU

I think there will be a level of not knowing how to play tourney ball with FGCU, UNF, and Upstate. It'll cost UNF/FGCU this season.

Don't discount the fact that you guys are leaving the conference and probably won't get alot of 50-50 calls.

Best part of the season being at Belmont games this year? Me yelling at the ref saying that I can't wait until we don't use them when moving to OVC. He replied, "We work both conferences."

Not sure the refs will care about us leaving...unless these refs are from Macon, GA and are Mercer alumni.

RE: A-Sun Tournament
I agree that Jax has turned out to be a very tough first round opponent, and since tournaments are typically somewhat more physical that really plays into their style. I am more concerned with our injuries as we didn't have Kerron or Blake Sat although I think Blake will be ready to go Wed, Kerron with his back, you just never know, especially the way he plays.

Mercer is 6-0 against their side of the bracket, and 2-4 against the other side. I want to see the team get the finals and have a chance for redemption. That home crowd is gonna be rocking! Belmont got a brutal draw as the #1 seed facing JU. North Florida and ETSU aren't a pushover. I think Belmont could handle UNF no problem, but Murry Bartow could put one more game together (you know he wants it bad!).

If Belmont even comes close to losing a game, it will be a miracle.

Speaking of "rocking" - is Mercer going to get the all-black drum section that they had for the Lipscomb tournament game last year? I don't know if it came across on TV, but for those of us at the game, those guys were wonderful, loose and funky, reminding me of a New Orleans street band or the Florida A&M drum section. They really had the student section shaking. Who were they? I'd be tempted to drive down early just to see them.

I'm not sure who the drummers are, but I'm a fan! Drums in the arena really add to the atmosphere.

Nice game for you guys, but I didn't see this matchup either. I was afraid I wouldn't get tickets for the finals, but there should be plenty now.

I'm on the road to Macon in less than a half hour.

I obviously hope you are right, however, FGC was a different team last night than the one we played previously. They utilized their bench and played very focused defense. I hope our guys don't take them lightly based on earlier results.

BTW, you guys really played a great game last night. I will miss these games as much for the fans on this board as anything.

I don't think Belmont is going to win by 30. FGCU leads by 3 at halftime. This...would not be expected.

You guys played a great game tonight. You're coach has you headed in the right direction. The tournament is great experience for your young players.

Oh I know it...about midway through the season I thought we were a year away, but there's something to be said about being just so close. Either way, good luck to Belmont, hope they make some noise...and good luck in the OVC
