RE: Who would rule the Northeast, the NBE or the ACC?

If they think about the Big East at all, nobody in any major college football areas is impressed by CUSA refugees. Schools like Memphis, Navy, SDSU, and SMU are considered low end cannon fodder utterly outside the big time college football conversation. Sorry, but that's the way it is.
The computers say the new Big East is better on the field than the Big 10 or the ACC. I'm happy with these moves so far.
Would it have better for the Big East five (UConn, Rutgers, Cincy, Louisville, and USF) to go independent? That would have been foolish. And I don't give a rat's a$$ what the SEC thinks; they can choke on their grits and chewin' tobacco for all I care.

Won't matter when ACC takes Uconn and Rutgers.

ECU is a better fit for the ACC.

I have always liked ECU and I hope that they end up in a top conference. I thought they were a dead ringer for a BE invite. If they ever do get into one of the top conferences, look out.

As I've repeatedly said, the ACC could use some help with football. ECU is a football school. The geography works very well with Terry Holland's regional agenda.
Since you're a Cuse fan, this is probably something that would be a very good topic on the ACC boards.

In theory, you are correct. However, UNC and other Carolina schools have made it abundantly clear to ECU that they will NEVER play in the ACC. Sadly, The Big East should have taken them over VATech back when they started football. ECU would still be there and would still be very good!

The Big East has invited half the Western Hemisphere and he is upset ECU is discussed by you?

LOL! Where did you get that idea?
Going by the goodness of fit principle, I merely thought that ECU would be of greater service to the ACC's fledgling football status.
Shoot the messenger. :007:
