Apparently Howie Lindsay, Editor of the Louisville Rivals paper, was on Radio WHAS 84’s Sport Talk 84 show hosted by Lachlan McLean. Last night and when asked about Temple being admitted to the Big East he flat out said Temple is Louisville's replacement and he expects Louisville to be on its way to the Big 12 within 6 months. Take it for what it is worth but some are saying Temple was added three months ago by the Big East. This does imply that Louisville will not play football in the Big East in 2012. So Memphis and Temple are West Virginia and Louisville replacements it would appear.

If Louisville were going to be in the Big 12 for 2012, they would have done that by now. The announcement I'd expect to be within the next 6 weeks or so, before March 31st. It'll be effective for 2013 season I'm sure.

Pretty sure the Big 12 has released it's 2012 schedule. West Virginia was on it. Don't think Louisville was.

If Howie Lindsey said this then we are gone...to put it bluntly Lindsey is pretty much the mouth piece of Tom Jurich...he is much like "Chip Brown with DeLoss Dodds"...he ain't say'n nothing unless he has Jurich approval.

If Louisville goes, they go. We'd still be at a good, solid, 12. Our next expansion would then be when Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech, leave for the Pac 12.

After that happens, I still like Air Force. And then I'd take the Kansas schools. That last spot in the BE should then go to the winner of a battle royal.

......But, I'm still not sold that Howie has 'back door' access to DeLoss Dodds just yet... and he's running that show.

Yeah and Chip Brown has a 100% accuracy record, too, doesn't he. How can anyone believe a rumor that's connected to another rumor that "Temple was added three months ago by the Big East"?

The schedule for 2012 Big 12 has been released with Louisville not on it. That ship has sailed. Saying that Louisville will be heading to the Big 12 within 6 months- all that would mean is the announcement that they're going to the Big 12. Not the actual going to the Big 12.

Since you're out in San Diego you might not know this but the ones that actuallly live in Louisville will back me up on this.:

There is one major difference between Brown & Lindsey is that Lindsey doesn't run his mouth like Brown in regards to rumors.

Also, Lindsey isn't going to say anything "without the approval of Jurich". I didn't heat it but if Lindsey did say this then I don't expect Louisville to be a member of the BIG EAST by 2014 @ the latest.

Wilkie, I would hate to see U of L go for many reasons. What are they saying about the 12th team? I really think the Big East is the best place for all of us and wish we would know the TV deal value before anyone makes a decision. If it is anywhere close to the Big 12 staying is better. If it's 1/2 then it's a no brainer to go. UC has been such a player in saving the Big East along with USF, I think we all have mixed emotions on what we want to happen. Let us know if you hear any rumors on UC, BYU, or anyone else. If it happens with UC, I expect it to be very private. UC rarely plays it out in the media. I would seriously miss the UC/UL rivalry just when it is heating up in both sports.... It should be fun tonight in the SHOE!

I'm sure we'd leave the same time as Pitt and'Cuse do. Fingers crossed,but the Beast was starting to look real interesting again.

I know this will be your wrost nihtmare Small Voice but you are in the minority of most Louisville fans on the issue.

Louisville may or may not end up going to the Big 12, but no one should either (1) assume the bolded will be happening AT ALL with the Texas need for control, control and more control (which it can't get in the Pac-12) or (2) believe that the Big East would have any ability to poach the Big 12 even if Texas left for the Pac-12. Conference realignment has shown that lower conferences don't get to jump higher conferences when such higher conferences lose members. Instead, the lower conferences get slapped back to the stone age as soon as they trick themselves into thinking that they can leapfrog someone ahead of them. See what the SEC/Big Ten/Pac-12 did to the Big 12, what the ACC/Big 12 did to the Big East, what the Big East did to the MWC/C-USA, and what the MWC did to the WAC. If there's one rule in conference realignment, it's that s**t ALWAYS runs downhill. The pecking order isn't changing, so get to the highest ground possible as fast as you can. Anyone that thinks that you can jump ahead of someone else due to such someone else's attrition is in for a very rude awakening.

Would love for Cincy to be travel partner in 12 as well as Memphis.

I hate to see the UC-UL games end. I hope we keep playing. Heck I was getting excitied over playing Memphis again. I still hope its UC,UL and WVU.

Cincy's ship has sailed. Louisville will be a good add and I am still pissed WVU was included.
