From that same article..."Persa...was unable to attend the event as he prepares for his “Pro Day” workout."

WOW what class!

Hopefully Doeren challenged Fitz to actually schedule us.

@ NIU 2016 & @ NU in 2017...though Doeren would not likely be here then.

Beckman was there, too... I doubt he'll be scheduling us. As for Persa, guess what, Harnish left for the combine this morning. NIU Athletic tweeted last night about Persa not showing. Nice.

Chandler really is doing everything he can to get the NIU name out there.

RE: Harnish Wins Toughness Award
Congrats to Chandler...such a classy young man! I feel honored to have had the chance to meet him and to have watched him play.

Here's a quote from the article per Harnish that I find really interesting...and PROOF that HWSNBN CHOSE to not play Harnish the first game of the season. It had nothing whatsoever to do with whether or not Chandler's knee was better. It was coaches who thought they would go a different direction and chose not to play him. Talk about IDIOTS!!! I am super glad they're all gone.

"I remember calling my father going into my junior year. This was 2010. I said: ‘Dad, I don’t think I can do this anymore.’ I had some injuries, the coaches were going in a different direction…they weren’t going to play me.

“I almost lost that edge. I almost lost that confidence, that belief. And I remember my family sticking with me and coaches sticking with me. They said: ‘Just stick this out. You will be needed at some point.’ Fortunately that year, I came in the second game…I didn’t play the first one (at Iowa State) and ended my last year at Northern with some awards and records along the way."

RE: Harnish Wins Toughness Award
Not to change the subject, but I noticed this farther down the article:

Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany received the NFF Outstanding Contribution to Amateur Football Award. NFF Scholar Athlete Awards were presented to Luke Duffy of St. Edward Central, Max Kurucar of St. Rita of Cascia and Jake Ziolkowski for Wauconda.

As if he knows anything about amateur sports. If anything he's trying to eliminate them. College, anyway.

And now back to our regularly scheduled program. Was Persa invited to the combine? If not I can see why he'd want to do his pro day stuff instead. Congrats to Chandler, another NIU graduate who was a monster on the football field and also represents the university well.

You are hoping that is scheduled or are there rumors that home and home is going to be?

2 for Evanston and 1 for DeKalb. I want Northwestern to play at Huskie Stadium. In the worst way.

I just want a Big 10 team. I would it interesting to see out of all MAC schools who has had a Big 10 team in their stadium and who has not. It seemed like things were really close with NIU/Minnesota about 3 years ago but it fell through.

This is just my wish not based on any real info.

+1 That would totally be acceptable too...but we play the first one at Huskie Stadium.

In honor of the Toledo defense? They gave his career stats a boost.
