Why on earth would CMU want to bump this game up a day and have a friday night contest?

I saw this, so stupid. I'd understand if they had a TV deal, but they don't.

Simple: Spring break. more likely for students to be on campus friday night than saturday

Makes sense. Keep the home court advantage as much as possible.

I was ditching class on thursday and friday before spring break just so I could get a head start in Panama City :)

haha, we don't even have class on the friday before anymore. it's now "spirit day"

I don't think that the date was changed, rather it wasn't set at the beginning of the season. For most of the season it was listed as March 2 or 3. I don't know that it matters though, students have plans and will be gone by Friday afternoon. I don't get this kind of scheduling for the home finale, against your biggest rival.

IIRC, that's the season finale of boy's basketball too. They might lose as much as they gain in attendance that way.

Excellent point.

Hate it when colleges schedule games on nights usually reserved for HS.

Maybe they plan on firing EZ before the MAC tourney, and want an extra day.

Ironic there's two former CMU basketball coaches who got pushed out there coaching MAC teams (Charlie Coles and Keith Dambrot).

I'd put money on that.

Ray offers EZ an assistant job and his son is a package deal.

I don't know how appealing Trey would be to another program considering his dad would be in his ear every day. They'd be asking for headaches.

WMU has a student/fan bus trip scheduled for CMU. Hope they can change it.

Bus no doubt got changed, question is how many riders who signed up be able to change their plans accordingly?

That's a 48 hour turnaround after hosting an EMU squad on senior night. Personally, I would have preferred to stick to saturday.

Nevermind. Just saw on the MAC website that the first round games are on Monday the 5th. I guarantee this decision was made knowing the Friday game gives both teams and extra day to prepare.
