Arrogance? Because I'm tired of seeing your same argument in thread after thread? I tolerated it for the past 2 months without saying a word. I am tired of reading the same thing over and over and over. That was the entire point of my original post (you have nothing new to add to the argument, so give it up, just as the Pro-Big East people should). If you read it as me trying to block your opinions, you are just plain dumb. I respect the opinion of people who don't like the fact that the Big East is in the BCS. But when you continually go on and on rehashing the same freaking supporting arguments for your view it gets OLD. The Big East people do this as well, I'm not trying to back them up. This is the Big East message board though, not the C-USA message board. If you want to continue this thread, go over there and discuss it all you want, and I'm sure they will follow you over there. But don't get pissed when I or anybody else says that this is just a dumb argument at this point because everything is saying the same things they've been saying since October.

Is it that tough to understand? I'm not ripping on you for your opinion. I'm not ripping on anybody for their view on the BE being in the BCS. I'm ripping on you for bringing up the same old tired argument over and over and over with nothing new to add to it. You stay over in your playground (C-USA board), and I'll stay in my playground (Big East). I will not come over and piss on your playground, so you should not come and piss on mine. It is that simple. If you want to bad talk the Big East on the C-USA board, go ahead and do it. But stop with the same old tired argument on this board, because it is worn out. If you have new proof (real proof, not the hearsay you continually bring up about Trev Alberts or some other commentator bitching about the Big East) then bring it up on your board. Bringing it up on here just asks for you to be banned and flamed left and right. If you can't figure that out, then I would imagine that all other Houston fans are embarrased by you.

I'll stop posting in this thread now in the hopes that you'll get the idea that you are just trying to incite people on this board rather than trying to have a real discussion. If you want to talk about a C-USA team playing against a Big East team, by all means come over. If one of the BCS guys comes out and says "The Big East is no longer a member", by all means come over. But if you are just coming over to rehash the same viewpoint with the same supporting arguments then please spare us of the wasted time and bandwidth.

TopCoog Wrote:so its OK for you to say over and over that something is going to happen and me to take a position that it is not....this is vewry muddled thinking.
1. I said that a MAC team would not be admitted to CUSA...they were no.
2. I said that the BE champ would play the non auto bid team...they are.
3. I said your football contract would be reduced...it is.
4. I said the Big East would not be able to hold their major bowls without Miami and the others...that is in the news now.
5. I told you from an advertising perspective why these things were going to happen. By this time you know I am correct, you just don't like a contrary view point.
2. Number 2, if Auburn was the number 2 team Utah would be playing Michigan. Bowls make the decision not the BCS.

3. Everyone and their mother said the Big East Football contract would be reduce.

4. Miami is not the problem, VPI is and the Gator wants better access to Notre Dame. That will happen IMO.

L-Yes is a lot more arrogant & derogatory with many of his postings. Before anyone rushes to his defense, my guess is that if he had his way, he would give several of his fellow Big East schools the Temple treatment.
Which Big East schools have I railed against?

L-Yes, I never said you ever posted anything against your fellow Big East schools. I just know how high of a pedestal you put Louisville. How do you feel about USF & Rutgers?

Has anyone ever considered implementing that great tool on this board labeled "ignore". Click it once and I'm willing to bet TopCoog disappears from your board. AMAZING!

As for Coog's assertions, let the long-dead program and its fans think what they want. Why do we care about a school that hasn't been relevant in NCAA athletics for 15+ years? He, as well as many C-USA leftovers, are just angry that their meal tickets (Louisville and Cincinnati) are taking off, leaving them to feed on the scraps like SMU and Tulsa. Heck, I'd be spinning crazy stories in my head, too, if I were suddenly playing in one of the worst conferences in the nation. The emotional trauma of suddenly being on par with the MEAC must be a very difficult thing to deal with. Delusional reactions seem like the expected response IMO.

Quote:there are no flames or dissing coming from here.
You said that Louisville's recruiting is suffering because of their move to the Big East.

Think about that. You said that Louisville's recruiting is suffering because they moved from a non-BCS league to a BCS league. Tell me that that is a truthful 'opinion' and not an intentional flame.

He's flaming. That's breaking the rules and that is grounds for a ban in my opinion. He can at least have the decency to use the designated boards for flaming.

I believe Sandman keeps him around for comic relief. I just hope he keeps visiting after the start of next football season. Things I will point out...Louisville, Pittsburgh and West Virginia will all be ranked in the Pre-Season Top 25, New CUSA may have 1 team ranked USM or UTEP.
I will also point out that Louisville, Cincinnati and USF will be competing for a BCS bowl birth while Houston will be striving to reach Memphis and a chilly New years Eve Bowl....Brrrrrrr
:D

If a mod would step forward and say something we'd handle it.

TopCooq.... If we did ban you from BE Conf Talk, it would probably nuke you from every Conference Talk board on the site.... including CUSA Conf Talk.

So ... how about a gentleman's agreement to either:

A) Tone it down some and realize this is "home field" for BE fans
B) Choose not to post one board on the site.

GTS, I've put it to a vote. I'll let the board members decide. If they choose to get ride of him, I'll get back with you.

Thanks

I think if the intent of a poster is to simply flame, then Big East fans who simply want to punk C-USA need to stay away from the C-USA board, and vica-versa. Thats just my opinion.
I think oldtiger just wants him banned over there as well. He is unwanted on both boards.
Thanks LYes.

In retrospect, this is a BE matter and the rest of us should have no opinion or say. My attempt at humor might have been sticking my nose in where it doesn't belong.....I may be goofy sometimes, but I can usually recognize it later. lol

Couldn't have said it better. Including the first paragraph. Why waste time responding to trash.

I think both are good members in their own right. Rutgers is the state school of New Jersey with a solid fan base (outdraws most of CUSA) and outstanding academics (HIV research out of RU is making headlines now). USF is a huge state university in Tampa that has the resources and backing to grow itself and also sits in the middle of a large market rich with football talent. As well USF has a well-rounded athletic department that competes for championships in every sport. Take a look at their history in CUSA...

I have no problem with either school being in the New Big East.
