Recruiting 2013
Not too early to talk about it; lots of top prospects have received offers already and a few commitments have taken place. See Scout's listing of Illinois talent

http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=9...atingValue

It's pretty extensive.

7 Illinois Players in Rivals top 250. Only TX, FL, CA, OH, GA, LA, NC & NJ have more.

Hopefully with our OL that we can recruited this year, we can follow it up with another good class for next year. We have an opportunity to build great depth at the position. We will probably be in desperate need to recruit a RB.

Actually that one "verbal" was from the WR from Peoria who I believe will be a walk-on in the fall.

Northern Illinois offers Lakota West OL Kyle Meadows

02/29/12 at 5:10pm
Written by mdyer

Lakota West junior offensive tackle Kyle Meadows has added an offer from Northern Illinois, according to Lakota West coach Larry Cox.

Meadows, who is 6 feet 5 and 275 pounds, also has offers from Illinois, Akron, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Toledo, Louisville, Ohio University and Youngstown State.

Cox said the college programs like his size and footwork. “He is so athletic; that’s the biggest plus and upside to him,” Cox said.

Meadows started as a sophomore and missed most of his junior season with a leg injury, Cox said.

I think we can beat anyone on that list for him, although I think West Va and Pitt will be the toughest. That being said, this shows that there can be value to offering some of this type of kid because it shows up in the media that we are competing for this type of kid -- which we should be. Kudos.
