Second, this was a HORRIBLE loss. They had an RPI of 185.

No doubt about it, it was a case of a veteran (Floyd) taking a newbie (Pastner) to school. Now, I really know that it's anybodys tournament come March. I hope that the Miners can get a first round bye.

I really didn't expect this win. It was a lights out defensive effort for the Miners and I give the game ball to Streeter. He played like lil' Timmy Hardaway. Good game Memphis.

A slow-down/ugly game knocks fast-paced teams and offenses off their rythm. This is why UTEP's losses are close to those types of teams. Haskins always said "we hang around, hang around, hang around, and offer ourselves a chance to get the win in the last minutes".

I don't think its that Josh Pastner is less of a coach than Floyd.... It's simply that some styles are are better suited to match-up against others.

Even if UTEP is a horrible team- as some Memphis fans have said; their style creates the opportunity for a win.

Yea, we sometimes have trouble with slow down teams, but we usually do well enough from 3 to mitigate that. Didnt tonight and UTEP did enough on the offense end to get the win. Good game from your players.

Fresnofanatic, if those teams leaving allows us the opportunity to join up again, why the hate? I'm notbeing hypocratical, because I hate the BE as much as anyone, or any AQ for that matter. Guess it's more of their tactics I hate. But I'm cool with Memphis leaving.

I just feel like we have the opportunity to have a solid conference grouping. and the mini-playoff system will be cool to watch.
