From what I understand, the multi-million dollar donation was simply for building a new Indoor Practice Facility and nothing else.
Yes.
Pulltown has it all wrong. He's saying that Ohio is requesting 2.5 billion from the state to renovated the campus. That isn't true.
The majority of that 2.5 billion will be from issuing bonds and then after that private donations and then increased student fees.
There is capital construction money that the state gives out to all universities with a formula that factors in enrolment size + growth percentage. A few hundred million over the course of the 20 year plan will end up directly from the state but that is no different than any other school in Ohio.
Quote:The six-year plan they approved Friday calls for spending $977.5 million in this area over that period; a proposed 20-year plan calls for spending more than $2.5 billion to fix up and rehab dorms, classroom buildings, utilities and other campus fixtures. Much of the money will be borrowed, though OU officials acknowledged that some may have to come from increased tuition and fees.

The only thing that MU really lacks is a baseball stadium, but the gears are turning with that as well. MU is trying to acquire the ACF property and plans to build a stadium there as well as a hotel and law enforcement training complex. (However, I think maybe that the city is going to either subsidize or buy outright and then let MU buy the property that the stadium will be on-I can't recall right off of the top of my head).
I
The hotel/baseball stadium at the ACF property is never going to happen.

How the f*** can a school in Conference USA have no baseball stadium?
