So I am confused...
"The MAC will also no longer automatically reward a top 2 seed to the division winners. According to WMU spokesperson Sean Fagan, teams will be seeded based on conference record, regardless of their place in their division — though no division champion will be seeded lower than fourth."

The above was from a previous Couch article. Would that mean if WMU wins the west they would get the 4 seed?

If so, isn't this guys analysis wrong?

The MAC's own website press release says otherwise.

It sounds like our school thought they were voting for one thing and voted for something completely different, between that comment and Hawk's similar belief that what you're suggesting (which was the coaches' idea) was what passed, not what really passed.
