Jeff Compher ‏ @NIUADCompher
Today Mark Muhlhauser & I visited w/ Justin McCareins former Huskie & NFL Star & 2011 NIU Athletics Hall of Fame inductee! He's doing great.

Yes they met with all their NFL players for donations. They are below $1 million left to raise (around $750k). They are going after $2,500 and above 5 year pledges right now, and the brick campaign will be started in the Summer (they wanted to stagger that with the HASF campaign that is going on now). They really need to update the news section here:

http://niuchessickpracticecenter.com/index.html

Who are they going after for these pledges?? I certainly have not heard a thing.

2 weeks ago AD Compher said they were still on the $25k 5yr pledge

So which is it? Are they going after $2,500 donors or $25,000?

Really? Are people that goofy?

I would think that we are so close that the people who can only donate $20 would feel like they are actually helping more than if we still needed 1.3mil.

I wouldn't worry about it until the spring game.

I will just bring my checkbook to the spring game and if they are taking little people donations then they will get mine.

If a need is demonstrated and communicated, people would be more apt to give. It's a fact, HJ. Much more so than if only a few bucks are needed.

Ok but $750k if more than a few bucks. Especially if that is AFTER talking to our NFL guys.

Considering HASF collects over $1mil per year 750,000 is reachable.

I am not saying that we cant get to that in the next two or three months just that $750k is more than a few bucks and if we truly can't break ground till it is all raised then more people would want to pitch in a few additional dollars to start the thing ASAP.

Ditto

Actually I was thinking about adding to the back of the skybox some club seats facing the baseball field.

Will the westside renovation cover a complete modernization of the restroom facilities, or will you just put in a new urinal trough or re-line the old one? Curious dongs want to know!

If I win, I'll never talk to any of you sorry sumsabitches again! I'll be too busy hanging out with the athletic director talking about my money to bother discussing football with any of you regular people. We will literally look down our noses at you enjoying the view from our sky box with our fancy champagne.

We will keep all of the old fixtures intact, no need to worry. We understand the desire to keep the retro elements of Huskie Stadium around.
