ASU had a chance to veto UALR when the Sun Belt and American South merged. Instead we passed on the idea and the relationship has grown so that ASU and UALR often present a joint front before the legislature fighting UA's land grabs.

These Louisiana diatribes leave me shaking my head. The opportunity is presenting itself to use athletics to build a relationship to work cooperatively in blunting the LSU juggernaut and no one seems to want to latch on to it.

All I did was answer the question as to why the animosity. I did not claim that we had a harder situation than any other school in our level of collegiate athletics.

I must have read hundreds of these things over the years written by Techies. Same old, same old, and most of it well-blended with a Ruston-side bias.

I re-read my post and do not see anywhere that I laid blame on anyone. If you must assign blame, then fine blame away. Too lay blame on any one institution or person is short sighted at best. There are lots of players in this situation from several generations.

I have family that graduated from both universities. If they play, great. If not, great. I don't really care either way.

Only "blame" I would say was put forth was that your legislature worships at the golden and purple altar with one grumpy mention of ULM fans complaining about Monroe area Tech supporting businesses. While I fully understand fans not happy about business supporting the team in the local community, I need only point out that such an argument is a two-way street and note that I saw ads for at least one Ruston based business on the scoreboard in Monroe. That game cuts both ways.

Without a doubt. As a business owner myself, I understand trying to put your advertising dollars to their best use.

I cannot blame any business for splitting their money between the schools.
