Basketball going to 18 conference games next year?
Heard an interesting rumor the other day about this. Likely means getting rid of divisions.
Not sure I want to play any more MAC games than we do currently. We play an average of 30 regular season games each year and I like the current balance between conference and non-conference games.

A number of conferences are already going to 18 games or exploring the option. The MAC is getting stronger and think the divisions would give the east teams an at large bid soon. For the MAC, sounds like a bad idea.
fyi A10 looking at 18 games

I thought the MAC just got away from playing an 18 games schedule no more than 4 or 5 years ago?
I like the idea of going to 1 division but I like it within the context of a quad format.
Quad East: Buffalo, Kent, Akron, Ohio
Quad Central: EMU, Bowling Green, Toledo, Miami
Quad West: NIU, Ball State, WMU, CMU
Play 6 games in your quad and play everyone else 1 time for a total of 14 conference games.
