Wow that is good. Almost as good as the MAC board saying ECU wouldn't be a good option for them because they're just living in the past. haha.

It was literally too stupid to reply to.

This is exactly why the Big East, ACC, SEC, ACC, Big 12, PAc-12, and Big 10 will forever be above Non AQ conferences. Troy to conference USA would be a lateral move and would not exactly help us in many ways nor would it help you guys. But the way people go about talking about things like this is just how the SEC views teams like ECU. To them ECU, Marshall, USM, are complete trash.

Just watch how the tone of Memphis fans will change towards you UAB fans after next year. When the start playing they Big East basketball only teams your basketball team is going to start being referred to as lesser and eventually just off the schedule. Heck Memphis coaches are already probably telling recruits they will be playing Big East teams and not lesser Conference USA teams already I can guarantee you.

So if your going to start talking about other teams your fueling all the reasons people have been clapping as teams like USM, UAB, Marshall, and ECU get left behind. I don't care personally but you guys seem to get upset when "trolls" come here and you post stuff like this.

I literally stopped reading right here.

(FYI - Sagarin rated CUSA football #8 this year, followed by 9) MWC, 10) WAC, 11) MAC, and 12) Sun Belt. The good news for the Belt is that they were able to hold off the FCS MVC for #13 ... after ranking below FOUR FCS conferences in 2010).

The Sunbelt members, like everyone else here, are just trying to stay afloat. Everyone wants to better themselves & that's okay.
I'd rather not treat them, as other boards have snobbishly treated us.

You can turn your head if you want to but things change over time. When these rankings came out conference USA had 12 teams, Navy was independent, Missouri still played in the Big 12, and Gus Malzhan was predicted to coach at a SEC school.

Heck Troy had it's first losing season in quite a while under those statistics. Things change on a year to year basis and the Sun Belt will probably be well above the MAC next year.

And since when to the mighty conference USA fans start using Saragin? These rankings are never credible and can be used to fit individual interest. Not a single kook who watches football is going to believe the conference USA was better in football than the MWC this year.

Note that I'm not ripping on Troy - I'm refuting the statement that it would be a lateral move.

By any objective measure, it's not a lateral move. It's not even close. If there is no interest (from either side), so be it. But the "lateral move" comment is just factually incorrect ... and it's not even close.

I'm not interested and your not interested but we don't make decisions. It would be very much lateral to move to conference usa once Memphis, Houston, SMU, and UCF are gone on this basis. AND IN A SCENARIO PROPOSED FROM THE OP

There would be no Florida school.
Travel would be absolutely insane.
No school has been to a BCS bowl.
The TV deal would probably be under 1 mil per school.
After USM and UAB we would probably never travel to any games nor would they come to Troy.

So for US it would be a lateral move. I'm not going to lie to you two years ago I would have loved to see us play in conference USA but it would be lateral once you guys get a worse TV deal because it would not make up for the travel. And would probably be the same for any individual Sun Belt team unless you guys added four or six of them. But if that's the case it would still be lateral because a bunch of Sun Belt teams + Leftover teams does not = Good conference.

Over the past five years, 2007 - 2011, the eight remaining C-USA schools are a combined 14-6 against the Sun Belt. Only one, UAB, has a losing record at 2-5. USM is 4-1 and Tulsa is 3-0 during that stretch.

I'd say that even minus the Big East additions C-USA is still considerably better than the SBC.

RE: heres a better laugh than the MAC board
Even if you left sagarin ratings out of it CUSA tv contract and bowl agreements are so far ahead of sun belt that alone makes it a better conference. LOL at sun belt schools claiming it would be a lateral move. If the alliances goes through, Mount USA will be the premier non-bcs conference, and sun belt will just be an east coast WAC.
