O/T: Boise State to Big East in 2012
Boise State still possibility to Big East in 2012

Quote:Boise State has had discussions with the Western Athletic Conference to determine if its Olympic sports teams could join the WAC in 2012 in case the Broncos’ football program joins the Big East this fall, sources told CBSSports.com.

“The Big East has been pushing them ‘quietly’ to join for 2012,” a source said.

Does this mean that WVU, Syracuse, and Pitt are gone next year?

I'm pretty sure its just WVU trying to push out of the BE for next season.

The reason why WVU is in such a rush to get it out is the Big XII's TV contract stipulates 10 schools otherwise its voided. Its desperation by the Big XII pushing WVU to force an early exit onto the Big East.

Depending on the mood of the Big East next year, they might let Syracuse and Pitt go a year early in 2013 with all the additions coming on board and into the Big East (SDSU, Boise, SMU, Houston, Memphis, UCF).

Looks like the settlement has been reached between WVU and the Big East. Will the dominoes now start falling for other teams to join conferences earlier than initially expected/reported?

Don't you get the feeling that Pitt and Syracuse will be gone sooner than expected?
