Looking forward to the Memphis and SDSU games, should be fun and will help us out with our Big West Experiment

I'll trade Memphis/UConn for UNLV/UNM all day every day and twice on Sunday.

I like it...it should only help strengthen the ties between the football-only schools and all-sports schools.

It'll be some fun games. So Memphis has basically 20 games locked up on its schedule for the first 4 years. It's gonna be tough to keep playing the ewetay's of the world. Hope we can still fit the Bartow Classic in there some where though.

The Big East schedule is tough enough.

However, I haven't seen the big East pulling the SEC Football approach of scheduling all creampuffs and saying "it's because our conference is hard".

Syracuse played Florida
Marquette played Wisconsin, Washington, and Vanderbilt
Notre Dame played Missouri, Gonzaga, Maryland, and Indiana
Georgetown played Kansas, Memphis (twice), and Alabama
Louisville played Butler, Vanderbilt, Memphis, and Kentucky
South Florida played Kansas (and Southern Miss, although most wouldn't mention them)
Cincinnati played Xavier and Oklahoma
West Virginia played Mississippi State, Kansas State, and Baylor
UConn played Florida State and Arkansas...

...OK, I'm tired of doing this, but I think the point is clear. Despite a tough row to hoe in the conference, the Big East schools haven't shied away from playing good competition outside of the conference schedule.

No worries here, SDSU has great basketball program, I'd be more than happy to have an ongoing series with them. No problems with Boise either, they'll own us in football, we'll own them in basketball, I can live with that.

Difference is it doesnt matter if you lose in BB cause there is a 64 (?) team tourney and in FB only two teams play.

Seth Greenberg only wishes this were true.

SDSU fans have been worried about the conference change, but we already have this lined up:

76 classic in Anaheim
UofA in viejas
Memphis/Uconn, likely one in Viejas
hopefully 2 more big east teams, one of which in Viejas

So, we should already have 6-8 good to solid teams on the schedule, 3 at Home and we negotiated only a 14 game schedule in the big west

We've had to schedule like this for 7 years. It's tough for freshman to have these hard games to start the season but around december you will be a hardened team and then you'll rattle off 20 straight going into the NCAA tourney.

UConn signed on as well (which was previously talked about)

Memphis will beat SDSU in a close game on the road and a blowout at home. The Tigers may beat BSU by 40 in either location.

Serioiusly. And you need to mind your manners.

Memphis has a higher RPI than SDSU, so it's not that much of a strech. As for BSU, their RPI is around 200. Kinda like Houston this year.

I don't mind scheduling them for the good of the conference, but they weren't added for their BB prowess.
