THIRTEEN STUDENT-ATHLETES SET TO JOIN RAMS FOR 2014 SEASON
[Image: 2013Recruits.jpg?max_width=800&a...height=450]

RICHMOND, Va. – With classes getting underway on campus, Head Coach Shawn Stiffler and VCU Baseball program announced its newcomers for the upcoming 2014 season.

Six Virginia natives highlight a 13-member class that brings a mixture of both incoming freshman and transfers. There are six pitchers, three infielders, two outfielders, a catcher and a two-way player that add both talent and depth to the Rams' roster.

"We're obviously extremely excited about this year's incoming class," Stiffler said. "Coach Palumbo, Coach Elbin and Coach Voltz did an unbelievable job of identifying and building relationships with student-athletes, who not only possesses tremendous baseball abilities, but also come from great backgrounds and have great character. We felt like we have met every need possible in this class with speed, defense, left-handed power, bats that can play in the middle of our lineup and power arms."

http://www.vcuathletics.com/sports/bsb/2...hedule.pdf

RICHMOND, Va.- Twenty-five home games and eight games against NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago highlight a challenging 2014 VCU Baseball schedule, announced today by Head Coach Shawn Stiffler.

"We're excited about this year's schedule with lots of opportunities to battle with some of the best programs on the East Coast," Stiffler said. "We've got a tough non-conference slate that will set us up for a highly competitive A-10 slate. Our student-athletes and coaching staff are excited about the challenge."

The challenges start in the opening weekend (Feb. 14-16) when VCU travels to Georgia Tech to play in a tournament, which features Radford, Old Dominion and perennial ACC power Georgia Tech.
