RAMS SET TO DO BATTLE IN ANNUAL BLACK & GOLD WORLD SERIES
RICHMOND, Va. – While the MLB is focused on their version of the World Series in St. Louis, the VCU Baseball team is getting ready of its own version with the annual Black & Gold World Series at The Diamond.
"This week is really about just competing against each other," Head Coach Shawn Stiffler said. "We break up the teams evenly and some guys may play out of position a little bit, but really it's just about getting out there and competing. The guys really buy into it and it's a great way to end our fall practices."
The two teams have been split into a Black squad (led by Volunteer Assistant Seth Cutler-Voltz) and the Gold squad (led by Assistant Coach Kurt Elbin).
All games will be played at The Diamond and will be open to the public with free admission.
The opening game of the series will see Matt Blanchard face off against Heath Dwyer.
