After a miserable start,...
we're finally playing decent ball! Can we build up to a good run in the conference tourny, or another early exit?

We are shooting the ball and rebounding very well and the last several games. If we keep shooting it good we have a great chance to win the CUSA Tournament..

Thank god, that no matter how well the Blazers play, there will always be people here to find the black lining and keep everyone grounded.

We beat a solid So. Miss team by 10. I think there is definitely some light at the end of the tunnel.

I dunno, we might actually put up a decent tournament run...

If everyone knows that's our only way to get into the NCAA, then maybe they can play 110%.

Sorry for the negativism. I ran out of post season optimism after last year.

While I still am holding out some hope for a run in the CUSA tournament and an auto bid to the NCAAs, if we fall short and are not NIT bound, do you think UAB should or will accept a bid to one of the lower level tournaments?

Most of the time, I would say no,but if this team makes that type of recovery to the season, so that any type of post season is possible, then I think the team has earned the right to play on.

Accept NIT? Yep.
Other tournaments? I'll let Mackin & Davis make the call on that.

On th other hand, those two tournaments are pay to play, I believe, so I doubt UAB would do that.

We have young players. Some extra tournament games would be an investment in future success.

That said, we're playing our best basketball at the right time of year for once, and we've proven that we can play with anyone in the conference. I see no reason why we can't earn the auto-bid.

I know it isn't what we are accustomed to, but if it gets our young guys more time together and gives Cam a few more times to suit up, I'm all for it.

And MB, as far as the negative attitude Phil has, what do you expect? After last year, you really believe we can win multiple conference tournament games? I don't believe we will win a C-USA tournament game until it actually happens again. Our record in that tournament under Davis has probably been one of the largest reasons we have been on the outside looking in come Selection Sunday after all those 20 win seasons.

Look what the CBI did for the Women.

Normally I would say no. This is not normally.
