Good kid. Interesting story about him, coach Carey, and NIU's wall of fame.

"Carey had just finished his first year with NIU, but was well aware of Adams' abilities, having coached the previous three seasons at the University of North Dakota. Carey made an early January visit to Minot the day before Hawaii's new offensive line coach Chris Wiesehan's visit to the Magic City.
"First off, we had conversations and learning what his family has gone through, I don't care if you're recruting a young kid or not," Carey said Wednesday, "and then they're rebuilding the house. I don't care if you're a stranger, family, a coach or a recruiter. I think you have to have some sensitivity to that."
Adams was impressed with Carey's concern for his family and the coach's resume as an offensive line coach for close to 20 years.
"I gave my decision right after I talked to the coach from Hawaii," Adams said. "(Carey) tutored two All-Americans ... the guy coming in from Hawaii has no All-Americans. Five years total of his 20-something year career he's coached offensive line.""
