The rest of you guys seem pretty cool and have pretty realistic views of everything. I personally have nothing against the MAC.

Here's a picture of the douchey *******

They could draw 70,000 a game, and it still wouldn't make them more attractive. They are locked in an isolated place in NC and have no media market that is attractive to the BE or the ACC. That's the end of their story.

They plan to take their stadium to 58,000 soon at ECU. That kind of size is starting to get hard to ignore.

The 25k or whatever Marshall likes to draw is easy to dismiss.

Notice there have been no new rings for Marshall in many years. This is due to...

A) The after-effects of probation.
B) Now playing in an AQ league.
C) CUSA doesn't blindly provide a home field advantage in their championship, like the MAC once did.
D) No need for any more championships, since there are no more fingers to put a ring.

WOW! Really? We [East Carolina] draw as many fans as 2 or 3 of CUSA football school's attendance. I needed a good laugh, this has been a rough week.

Fixed it for ya. We are well aware of our attendance woes, but the majority of CUSA schools aren't packing them in either. Outside of filling the seats, the MAC did go 4-1 this bowl season and had as many players in last year's Super Bowl as ANY other league. So we have that going for us.

Do you follow football man? C-USA is not an AQ league. There are only 6 of those (SEC, ACC, B1G, PAC-12, BIG-12, & Big East)

And you are correct probation did hurt some, but our football problem begins and ends with our former athletic director making an awful hire after Coach Pruett retired.

MUsince96: Wasn't there also some sentiment that Coach Pruett lose his "fire" the last year or two and when he left the "cupboard" was a little "bare" in terms of recruiting classes? (plus there were some NCAA scholarship restrictions for 3 years, weren't there?).

I think the main thing Marshall fans have lost sight of is how you were a major part of the discussion as being consisently mentioned (by the national media) as one of the premier non AQ football powers year in and year out in the MAC....now you are not part of that conversation at all.

That has to be one of the first posts here on this forum by MU ATO in a long time. MU ATO, if you are still lurking about, I couldn't help but notice your moniker stating, "CUSA and MTSWAC West merger...JUST SAY NO!". I guess from perusing the C-USA board from time to time I thought you were in favor of the "Alliance". Is that the best place for Marshall in your opinion?

To be fair, he IS a miserable human being. Funny thing is you would think a fundamentalist Christian would not cheer the death of humans.

MU ATO might want to change his signature map now that Memphis will be leaving... Which will show just how far out they are from the rest of the conference.

Is there one of these from the original membership? I'd like to see a comparison of the two.
