It's only a big deal for the murderous whores who support abortion.

But the press can make it come across as a bigger deal. You have to anticipate and minimze that.

I imagine Komen was caught by surprise b/c they were a media darling, and suddenly the press turned on them. But that's what the press loves to do.

That's what the press does when it sells newspapers. If people were not reading the coverage, it would have ended then and there.

Exactly. This was a press created issue and it's quite sickening.

Komen is not about reproductive rights or family planning. Their focus is strictly on breast cancer so why should they be backing Planned parenthood who, contrary to the narrative, do a piss poor job at providing things like mammograms.

The left used to joke that if men got pregnant than abortion would be a sacrament. The sad thing is, that to them, it is a sacrament.

Funny but SGK has been giving to planned parenthood for years and that was not 'politicizing breast cancer' but when they decide that money would be better spent with groups whos sole mission is breast cancer they have now made it political.

It's amazing how terribly this was handled. Komen simultaneously eroded support from both pro-choice AND pro-life women. wow.

And as Bull correctly points out, none of this was political until they decided to change the status-quo.

Their decision was not political, the media made it so. I just find it amusing that to the leftist giving money to PP is no political but *not* giving money to them is political..

It's the change that's political. If it had changed the other way, it'd be just as political.

EDIT: Rather, it's the change that was politicized. If it had changed the other way, it'd be just as politicized.

Instead of the whole PP thing, we should be focusing on how little funds Komen's organization funnels towards cancer research. Same for LIVESTRONG. They both spend the majority of their money on organization and telling people that there is this thing called cancer. We know of cancer and that it is bad. Spend my money on making it go away.

So they have a wad of cash, and a mission... They have been giving that cash to a group whos mission does not line up with their own... So they give that wad to someone who does?

How in the F is that poilitical?

The reason for the change made it appear political, whether it was or not.

What exactly was the reason? They said it was because they were under govt. investigation, but I kept hearing it was because they hated women.

You take away a GIFT from someone and they start crying, feeling entitled to something that isn't theirs.

Citing an "Atlantic" opinion piece isn't the best source of clear facts on this.

I know all about Karen Handel, but the discussions had already been going on before she joined Komen. Other than mischaracterizing her role in this decision, the article says nothing more than what I already said.

Nice! They hired a right-wing politico and got slapped down for making an obviously political move, and in the process tainting their entire organization which used to be viewed as non-partisan. Hopefully this will be a lesson for other organizations.

To whine and cry in order to get things that were GIVEN to you? That you feel ENTITLED to?
