Todays Tip Off Club Luncheon
If you weren't there you missed a lot. Coaches Shields, Foley, and Norwood were taking questions and Shields told a lot of nose jokes.

Also Recruit Stetson Billings was there being honored by the Tip Off Club. Good luncheon.

Did you know that the Sunbelt Baseball has the 6th best rpi rating out of 20 something conferences?

Did you know UALR women have two point guards coming in next year?

Did you know Shields has neck problems from holding up his nose?

Steve was really funny. Good luncheon. Great support for UALR at the luncheon. Ray Tucker was the M.C. Pretty large turnout.

Just curious why UALR coaches all had to speak on the same day. Did Brady from ASU, or Anderson the pig coach, or any of the others who spoke, have to share the speaking time with two other people? Seems like every time I read about the meetings, that they only mention that one person spoke. Sounds like another ******* that UALR took from central Arkansas.

It was a good format and was very entertaining. The only persons on the stage were our three coaches and Ray Tucker. It focused on UALR and the three coaches that got their teams to the NCAA tournament. I feel like it really put more attention on UALR athletics than it would have if there had only been one coach as a speaker.

I choose to take an optimistic look at this and be grateful for the publicity all three programs got. But that's just the way I am.

I think it was great as well. All our coaches are friends and really get a long. It was a great opportunity for our girl's program and our baseball program to get much needed exposure. To be honest, I couldn't see Brady or the Chickenhawg coach sharing the "spotlight" with the women's program and baseball program. Says a lot for Steve, who unlike most coaches really does not appear to have an ego or be full of himself.

Brady would never agree to or ask Boyer to come with him. Even if Brady did ask Boyer, the girl's coach would turn him down. They are both constipated.

I agree, no way it would happen.

I thought I remembered Shields and Foley both speaking to the Tip Off group in the past, but on separate occasions.

I think they have, too. I certainly do not know the circumstances as to why all three were there this time. It could be as simple as Shields saying he would do it only if Foley and NOrwood came. Maybe Peterson set it up that way. Who knows, ask the NLR Chamber of Commerce why it is. At least all three programs got some pub from it, though I am sure there will be nothing in the paper about it Tuesday.

Actually there was a very nice article in the paper today. And it pretty well captured what went down at the meeting. Actually it wasn't a speech by any of the coaches, but somewhat of a forum. Ray Tucker asked each coach some questions and allowed each to talk about their programs, and then the crowd was encouraged to ask questions, which several did. It was very nice, and when it was mentioned that Stetson had signed with UALR, the crowd gave him a standing ovation. It was a very nice promotion for UALR.

Good deal. We need for our in-state recruits to get a little extra mileage for signing.

Is Stetson as good looking as Tags?

They look nothing alike. Totally different body structures. Stetson is like a Greyhound. Long and sleek. Looks a little like Scotty Pippen. Not quite as tall, but looks like an athlete. If he comes in a little early and works with Coach Barron, I could see him starting next season.
