RE: Southern Miss not ranked?
No question in my mind that Southern deserves to be in the Top 25 this week.

You can't use the Top 25 rankings in a discussion over why they are wrong. The rankings are so self-serving it is ridiculous. Please explain how Harvard deserves to be ranked over Southern Miss based on an entire body of work, not just one game.

Harvard is 19-2 undefeated in conference and has a win on a neutral floor over a ranked opponent in Florida State.

USM has the RPI on their side, but the Sagarin and Kenpom is not working in their favor.

Sagarin crayola and KenPom...and how are their numbers a factor???...the one that matters is RPI. Really, you just came with Sagarin and the cheerleader...

You guys may have more individual talent, but I take our coach and team play all day long.

No bad losses, a number of good wins (MEM was preseason #single digit...funny now eh?...why I hate preseason rankings), and SOS....if MEM played our schedule with our record, they would be top 10 now based on the preseason rank.

Eagle04 is spot-on...blah, blah, mfkn blah

Took Murray to double OT...played them closer than any other team (was at neutral site)...they didn't beat us at our house (like MEM) and we didn't have Dodson...btw, MEM beat who this year (JSU, Austin Peay, Lipscomb,Robert Morris, Charlotte...wow)? It is laughable to schedule top talent, get beat, and argue that because the scheduling was tough but we lost them all it's all okay. I'm an equal opportunity a-hole too.

KenPom and Sagarin are more about predicting the future outcomes of games than they are about rating teams based on how they have performed thus far.

Why you making this about Memphis? I never said Memphis should be ranked. Learn how to read before you start arguing about insignificant things. That response was referencing those four teams mentioned about it. Taking Murray to double OT doesnt mean shtt if you dont win.

Memphis also has 5 to nationally ranked opponents and two road losses in conference. Not too shabby. Once again though, its not deserving of being ranked. However, being 20-3 with zero quality wins vs ranked oponents is not worthy of a ranking either.

four numbers from the same writer. I looked at KenPom, Sagarin, RPI, cbsrpi, Wins vs RPI top 50.

You also have two wins against D2 teams. Why should anyone repect you as a ranked opponent when you dont even respect the fact that you should play D1 teams? At least he didnt schedule any NAIA games this season. Tougaloo could prolly beat that azz.

You're are so blinded by your a-holeness...you are right about one thing...MEM should not be ranked.

RE: Southern Miss not ranked?
Your RPI is falsely inflated due to playing two non-D1 games as well. You wonder why people dont take your RPI seriously, well , there you go.

four numbers from the same writer. I looked at KenPom, Sagarin, RPI, cbsrpi, Wins vs RPI top 50.

Again, KenPom and Sagarin are supposed to be used as predictors, not to rate teams on their current success. Also, I'd be willing to put our numbers up against some other teams that are ranked. I'm not saying we played the toughest schedule in the world, but we played far from "an extremely weak" schedule. We have won 18 games, lost only 3 (2 away and 1 on a neutral court) and have won 16 of our last 17 games with that 1 loss coming @ Memphis by 2 points.

Last time I checked, non D1 games are not factored into the RPI equation...LMFAO at the lunacy

Exactly. You chose to play two non-D1 buy game instead of two D1 buy games to avoid the RPI hit. ITs not exactly that difficult to figure out. Do the math on playing two 250 RPI home games instead of two non-D1 games and see what that RPI looks like.

Close to the dumbest...next...what if we would have scheduled 85 rpi teams and beat them...what if, what if, what if, what if, what if....
