MAC Wrestling
Kent State can complete an undefeated dual season and clinch the regular season MAC championship with a win over EMU this afternoon in Kent.

That is very likely to happen as KSU holds a 38-1-1 all-time series lead against Eastern Michigan and that one loss occurred 38 years ago.
(The title was really decided last weekend when KSU beat CMU 22-13.)

KSU is having a great season, especially considering they redshirted their returning National Champion Dustin Kilgore who is training for the Olympics.

RE: MAC Wrestling
There is a parent of a wrestler in my area who wrestled for Kent St. We chatted again yesterday.

His kid is very good.

I would love to see the MAC figure a way around the Title IX entanglement and have more wrestling programs.

We are sort of pretending this season doesn't exist as it looks like we will not get 13th out of the last 14 MAC championships. At least it gives the other programs some hope!

We also have 2 of our best redshirting for the Olympics, Jerod Trice (HWT) and Scott Sentes (133), who should return for their SR years. Between those 2 and Ben Bennett we are projected to have 3 All-Americans in the starting line-up next year. We only lose 1 SR who would have started, but he wrestles at Kilgore's weight so that doesn't really matter.

I'm not sure how much hope any of them have looking at where they seem to be headed. Kent hasn't lost a dual meet to any MAC school except CMU since 2005, and I'm sure CMU is about the same. None of the other four seem to have much going for them, team-wise. A few isolated top wrestlers.

UB had a strong recruiting year going into this season. Otherwise, you are spot-on- a few isolated top wrestlers, but overall not a strong team.
