Cuse NY's Team
When Cuse fans takeover a soldout MSG with 80% of the fans that is NY's team for college basketball. Case closed.

What would the ratio be if the team's records and rankings were reversed?

Probably much different.

Doesn't hurt to be in first place in the Big East and #2 in the nation.

NOTE: Everyone knows Cuse has a lot of fans that show up for games in the Garden...and yes, more seem to show up when Cuse is playing very, very well vs if they had a record like St Johns this year.

Not sure we have not been that bad since the 60's

There was a poll a couple years back in the tri-state area and Rutgers, ND, & UConn had more fans than Syracuse.

I think Syracuse fans travel well - especially to MSG. But they do not have the most fans within a 50 or 60 mile radius of NYC.

If you're referring to the one the NY Times wrote about, it was a non-scientific poll. Some Guido found it and told the other Jersey State fans and they stuffed the ballot box.

You don't need a poll. Watch Feb 19 1:00PM ESPN and you'll see who has more fans.

We are.

We have one of the best basketball teams in the country though, why not brag?

If we had a top 3 football team, we'd be talking sh@t like crazy. 03-lmfao

We do ok in football...we travel well to several locations including USF.

USF hasn't exactly done much to brag about for fan support

We have not been around as long as Cuse has. I can guarantee you that had we had the years and tradition cuse football has had we would have way better support. Florida s a football state NY not so much

Easy to say...impossible to prove.

Guess what?, basketball kinda counts in the Big East and your attendance is embarrassing. Hopefully your new, improved SunDome will get some fans back.

I guess 2010 is forever?

BTW, this post was about basketball and capturing the NY market not football. Cuse has been kicking ass in basketball for 40+ years...sure we've been down in football but we are coming back.

Hey Genius, this thread is about basketball, not football. But since you brought up the subject, I'll just say that Cuse fb has been as bad for as long as Cincy bb.

Check out a Miami game and get back to me on that rabid fan support for South Florida football teams.

That's a legitimate question. I have to agree with Mark though. The Cuse is almost always good if not very good. St John's is basically in a 25 year suck fest with a few yearly exceptions here and there. At what point do you say this is the "norm"?

I think right now they are the most popular college basketball team in NYC. Football is of course a different story.
