Thanks for posting this... I've seen the other version.."A funny thing happened to Maryland," but never this version. Watching those highlights never gets old.
It's funny how my memory has distorted that play. Looking at it now, it's much more of a fade route than my memory had it. And the toe drag is actually much longer than I remember.

Yep, no doubt about it. It was just amazing. I still remember holding my breath at the end end praying for no pass interference, just hoping that it actually happened.
Also, not to be overlooked is the fact Azar kicked a 52 yard field goal in that game. I had forgot about that until I watched this highlight. Man, what a great experience that game was.
I remember Maryland scored so easy on their first possession. It looked like it would get really ugly based on that drive. I swear there is something about scoring easily on the first possession that causes a team to step out of their initial gameplan. Seems like it happens so much.

Azar also had a FG blocked at the end of regulation that would have made winners of the Huskies a bit sooner.

Except for the times that the scoring team s#*t hammers the other one for 60 minutes.

Great post slumo, also that was the first time leaving the game I remember getting goose bumps from hearing everyone chanting N-I-U!!!! , just amazing hearing that echoing throughout campus. What a great game and amazing year to be a part of, this year was just as fun and I can't wait for what the future brings.

That was when I started screaming like a fool, saying, "This is how it always goes! We have them beaten! And now they're going to wiggle off the hook!"
I was wrong.
Pretty much the same drama played out in West Lafayette in 2009 when the refs ruled the lateral on the Purdue hook-and-ladder to be an incomplete pass (and royally f*#ked up the clock so much that Purdue alum Rod Woodson said "That can't be right").
That game was amazing. I jumped up and down the whole game. The buzz before the game tailgating was awesome. USA Today article on Turner came out that morning. And... a young Erin Andrews trolling the sideline caught my attention.

Without a doubt, the greatest sporting event I have ever attended (and I have attended quite a few). There will never be another game like this in terms of adrenalin and excitement, IMO. I did not sleep for 2 nights after that game.
